I've always thought Rosler was alright. Just looking for the right club after Brentford. Wigan were a shambles something akin to us this season and Leeds are - well Leeds.

 

As far as profiles go (not that they count for much) him or Brown is about as big as we can reasonably expect. Sheridan or Wilder would be more risky but with the chance of something great happening.

 

I'd probably prefer one of the latter two - but seen as I've been wrong about pretty much every managerial appointment we've ever made - my opinion should be completely discounted as irrelevant.

When I were a lad, the krauts had a little striker called Uwe Seeler.

 

The crowds used to chant "oo-vay, oo-vay, oo-vay" which at the time seemed magical to me.

 

For this reason and this reason alone, I would like to see Rosler take over. Then we have the problem of getting our fans to chant a full two syllables.

Southend, in league 1, are paying a manager over £500K per year?  -  of course they are

Phil Browns ex wife was getting half his £20000 a month wage. Southend have now doubled it.

I don't think we'd have even been in danger of matching his 5 grand a week anyway so that doesnt sound right

And you're privvy to this information how?  -  I find it incredible that a club as small as Southend would have arguably the highest paid manager in their division, especially as they're closer to relegation (points wise) than promotion and have lost 4 of their last 5 games, not usually the time to be offering out bumper pay rises
