Sad news. One of the Musketeers of that fantastic young team in the 70s and a very talented footballer. .    

Never had the pleasurer to watch him play

RIP. Good that the club honoured him recently whilst he was still with us.

Terrible news. Rest in peace.

I was lucky enough to see him play from the youth team through his great period with us. Met him at the Preston match and had a chat with him. Didn't realise he had so little time left with us.

Sadly i missed his hat-trick against City, but saw him play other games.

My first hero remember having the "feather cut " hairstyle to look like him.  l will always remember the hatrick against City. 40k plus on Burnden that night Lever End was buzzin. City where a good side at that time Summerbee etc etc and Garry battered em. Always played with a bit of flair.

Best goal I ever saw him score was against Newcastle in the epict FA Cup battle with them. It was in the 3rd game, 2nd replay at Elland Road. He drove into the box, glidded around 2-3 players before slotting the ball home.

 

Unfortunatley for his career he was never the same player following a bad injury to his knee, which eventually ended his playing days.

I missed his best ever moment when he beat City all by himself. My dad thought i was to young to go to the game with all the City mob in town.
