So no - I'm not a Corbynista - but if you're asking me which of the party leaders have outlooks which most broadly mirror my own - then yes it would be JC.

Looks like the NEC are gonna remove him from the ballot paper unless he gets the backing of 51 MP's and or MEP's. He is very unlikely to get those. 

 

Gonna be fun either way. If they remove him, a lot of NEC seats are up for re election soon and the unions might just pull the plug on the labour party for a while. He could be removed then reinstated in the Autumn.

Well I don't know about the world - but certainly the regulars on here.

 

It's not new news that though is it? :-) And I realise I'm very much in the minority, but this notion that people should be ashamed of their political beliefs is old hat now.

 

There's an appetite and a renewed vigour from the left. Although I doubt it will be realised through the Labour party sadly. Daft and irrational as some of you might find the idea - everybody should have the chance to vote for a party in Parliament which at least partly represents their views. That's why I've never really been up in arms about UKIP. I don't agree with them, but plenty do and look what an effect they've had after being a laughing stock (amongst some) for a long time.

 

If the PLP fuck JC off, which is looking increasingly likely - it's going to alienate an awful lot of people.

I reckon this is the problem Labour have. They've 2 core sets of voters with competing agendas. Your liberal, metro type and your traditional working class type. And it's your traditional working class type who Labour don't resonate with anymore. Not an easy job to fix.

I agree, UKIP was originally formed by many disaffected Tory Eurosceptics so post brexit unless they can reinvent themselves from a one issue party and find themselves a charismatic leader a lot of their support will drift away.

Maybe - I don't actually mind Tim Farron - I don't agree with him on the idea of a second referendum but in general I think his heart is in the right place.

The whole labour membership 'rent a vote' for £3 is a joke

 

clearly it's far too open to abuse

 

A guy from Monentum was saying the membership should be respected as they go out and do the hard work during elections

 

In many ways I agree, but how many of the hundreds of thousands of members were there for the 2005,2010 or 2015 election?

 

They have come in since the whole Corbyn thing kicked off last year just to vote him in, it's not like they have all done the hard yards

 

They should only allow people to vote who have been part of it before 2015. Once they have put a shift in they get a say. I know of at least 5 people on my news feed that are joining to keep Corbyn in, very easy from the comfort of their sofa. I know these people relatively well and I can't honestly see any of them attending meetings or doing any work for the party.

 

The system is completely fucked and isn't a fair representation of labour voters views

 

He's won the rights to the labour brand, let him have it!

 

Let the other 172 MP's go off and form an opposition with the Lib Dems and relegate JC to 4th party to drown him out

 

2020 will be a bloodbath but then again it will be anyway, nothing to lose!

Its the latter that made Brexit happen. I would not be at all surprised if ukip were to stand in 2020 that their vote would increase from 4 million from 2015 to 6.5 million. The progressives or metros as you call them are alienating the white working class. They are forcing an unpalatable modern leftist agenda on them.

 

Corbyn will not fix that with his open door policy and idiotic foreign policy. The press will also demonise him as anti British when 2020 comes around.
