Even though our defence and midfield is very strong for the third tier im not convinced any team with crap strikers can win automatic promotion.

Enjoyed it again though, lots of promise for coming weeks and months, we played some of the best football I've seen from us for a long while 2nd half, looked after the ball well and moved them all over the place.

One of the most frustrating games I can remember. Brown must be wondering how the fuck him and his pantomime act of a team have gone home with a point there. A routine home win on another day. The 3 new lads looked a cut above and will be perfect coming into a team already in form. Surely, SURELY some poor bastards are in for a thrashing soon.

When Lennon was potted, I wanted Brown in as replacement.

After watching the embarrassing tactics employed by them today, thank fuck I didn't get my wish.

They played like it was a 3rd round Fa cup match. Not one proper contribution to the football match bar the scabby goal whatsoever. But that's football.

We dominated for sure - a great sign; however, I don't think we created that many great chances. Hence the 23 shots and only 4 on target. Their keeper seemed very dodgy and we should have tested him more.

 

The new lads all looked like they have potential. Henry just needs a few games to get match sharp IMO, but first impressions were v good on them all.

 

Oddly for me it was Madine's best game in a Bolton shirt and he was decent, yet when Proctor came on I thought he was even better.

 

Sammy looked good but for me we looked slightly less dangerous then as it pushed Anderson back where he was crowded (with them sat back and crowding that area) and nullified him a bit.

 

Of our attacking players, if PP can get the right combinations I think it will be extremely exciting.

 

Spearing MOM again for me; he was absolutely everywhere. My Sarfend mate can't believe he's playing at this level on that evidence.

 

Thought our centre halves were top drawer again but the full backs weren't great. In their defence, the diamond is very narrow so they don't get as much support defensively as they could, and when they get the ball we are so narrow they'll have few options, but they need to improve for me otherwise I can see A Taylor getting in for a start.

 

Vela continues to disappoint me and Trotter could do more too for me.

 

They did what I think a few teams will do at our place now with the gamesmanship etc. Barrett and Browny in particular are a pair of dicks.

 

All in all, the signs are really good for me and I can't wait to see the new lads once they've settled in and they all know each other. Exciting and positive but lots of room still to improve! Bring on MK....
