Almost thirty years since they drubbed us in the FA Cup at Highfield Road, that was a bloody cold day if I remember correctly, though it did warm up rather notably after the match.......another classic day by tranny van.....

Anyway, 1721 Whites see a winter warmer of a 6-6 draw...

Jimmy Hill's chin nudges in a hat trick with the rest coming from Ernie Hunt, Steve Hunt and Jabba the Hunt.

Ian Wallace gets a hat trick of own goals as does Brian Borrows, to send the White army home Happy with seven points over the festive period..

Was that the game when Coventry were 1st division and we were either 3rd or 4th division? Think we got beat 3-0, but we had a massive following, me included.

That's the one pal. We were old third division at the time.

They were shocked by our numbers especially before the game. After the game became very lively though and they had a decent firm in those days.

Got my first job as a sales rep in March 86. The 86/87 season was the first that I travelled a lot following BWFC getting a bit giddy with the company Vauxhall Astra

Abiding memory of that Cov game was getting lost somewhere on the outskirts and spotting a rental Luton van with a Bolton phone number on it and following it. It pulled up in a side street, so we did as well, and the driver got out, lifted the roller shutter door and about 20 blokes piled out along with a load of empty beer cans that rolled out

Was that your van I wonder miami?

We were in a Luton box van mate, the driver used to post on here. We pulled up on the outskirts, at a pub called The Wyken and and Pippen, mentioned it on ways in the past.

On the M6 coming back, we had the shutters up and one lad had a bloody lollipop man's stick, waving it at overtaking traffic, which he'd "borrowed" from the front garden of a Coventry house when mayhem broke out.

Our driver from Deane was pulled over and later received a fine for "dangerous load"

Absolutely bloody madness but unforgettable days.

Up until that season I'd always gone to aways with my dad so that year being a new driver and not knowing where a lot of towns were, never mind the grounds, I used to regularly get lost. We used to spot the "hoolie-vans" and follow them in. Any rental van with an 0204 number on it was like a sat nav for us

Was madness indeed. I was never into the fighting but if you followed the firms they would get you to the ground. The away followings in those days were legendary considering how shit we were

If you'd followed our van to Palace in 93//94 you'd have ended up 65 miles away from the ground like we did haha.....

Worse thing was our driver was a bloody courier by trade...you couldn't script it mate......

The only time i've been in a car to Palace we got lost, even parked up at the athletics stadium at one point & made such a bollocks of it that the gates were open by the time we got there.......saw less than 10 minutes of football, then got back in the car & set off back. I've had better days.

That'll be another pitch invasion then. Hope it distracts their team as much as it did last time.

EDIT They've since tweeted they aren't planning on disrupting the game. Still can't rule it out though I'd say.

Be careful driving.

It's icy, temperature didn't make it above 1 degree all the way here.

Never seen the M6 so quiet.......

It'll be its usual massive bag of bollocks by 6am tomorrow
