I’m hearing Lee has signed. Along with S Ellis-Bextor

Lee, John.

Imagination running wild.

On the face of it, we've signed 2 championship quality players. If they are and stay fit, together with the right attitude, they should be fabulous signings.

Can't say I've seen either play though

Seems a better standard than most of what we signed in the summer.

Is he one of the two?? 😄

Really pleased with this signing...

Seems to have played much of his career at right back so he’s obviously quite versatile too. Cracking signing for me.

Two signings that show real intent and demonstrate that we are after a higher  calibre of player. Well done IE and FV 👏

No excuses to kick on now

Really? How many Bolton wingbacks have had as many assists and scored as many goals in such a short space of time? Comparing him to Morais is just ridiculous, he was an out & out winger.

I judge him as a winger tbh, as his defending is minimal (that's more a fault of the system than the player).  I expect a winger to create more.  I've no complaints about his goals away from home, better than expected, but I can't remember much in home games after the assist in his 1st game, but happy to be corrected.

Ameobi, Verdlinden, Politic, Morais had more of an impact in terms of creating chances, I don't go by the "assist" count as that relies on someone finishing it off which the winger can't influence.  Just not seeing many good crosses etc.

Wednesday fan here just wanted to congratulate you on the signing of Kieran Lee.

A perfect pro, far too good for League one, You wont hear a bad word about him from a single Wednesday fan.

A true legend good luck Kieran all the best.

Pleasantly surprised he’s signed an 18 month deal. Just hope he’s stays fit.

I can't remember much in home games

One of the problems I have with your analysis is that it is heavily (if not totally) based on home games. Just off the top of my head despite him having decent games against Salford and Southend at home,  I remember him playing well and contributing significantly in the away games against Carlisle, Scunthorpe and Stevenage.

As I said earlier he’s a good player at this level, there’s not many in our squad who have performed better than him this season.

Swfc fan here, K Lee is an immense singing for you. I’m very surprised that he’s dropped down to league 2 as he is still very much championship quality. He’s been a brilliant player for us predominantly playing as a box to box midfielder. Very calm and composed in possession, excellent reader of the game and pops up with goals too.

He suffered a hip injury in 2017, at the time we were 4th in the league and Carlos Carvalhal played him through it to get us over the line for the playoffs. Since then he had to undergo surgery on it and was out for around a year. Since coming back from it he was in and out of the team and never was really the same.

I think I’m in the majority of Wednesday fans when I say he’s one of my favorite players for us of the last 30 years. I couldn’t get my head around why he wasn’t playing in the PL. Oozes class and a top professional

Good luck to him and you guys

In truth most of my analysis of players in recent years is based on home games, throw in the occasional away game attended, TV highlights, comments from others etc.  No different to this season. I like Kioso, but I feel like he's playing within himself at the Unibol, its not that I see him giving the ball away loads, just a lack of incisive play for me, to date.  Seems to find himself more central away from home judging by his goals, or could be coincidence.

You might judge him as a winger, but Kioso isn't a winger.

A bit like Ameobi,Verlinden,Politic and Morais aren't/weren't wingbacks.

That sounds a bit ominous. Hopefully he's come through the worst of it.

30 games last season despite curtailment......practically every game

He played a good chunk of games for us last season, but just couldn’t cover the distance he did pre surgery which was to be expected. He was in the top 3 players in the championship for distance covered in 2015/16/17, something daft like 12k per game. Just didn’t look nearly as fit post surgery but fingers crossed he can still do a job. If he can you’ve got the best player in the league by a country mile

Cheers, if he can stay fit he will be a great signing for us.

OK fair enough.  So it looks like we're carrying on with the wingback system if he stays/plays.  Could be a toss up between him and Jones for RWB now that we have a LWB.
