I can't go on Sunday either, maybe a bit of bitter cunt solidarity? At least asking him to post in appropriate threads may alleviate the issue somewhat.

I've no problem at all in moving to the appropriate thread.

I simply replied to RS question on the thread he asked it on (this one), then Masi asked his questions on this thread, which I replied to, and by then all the silliness, trolling, hatred, stupidity, call it whatever you will, kicked off!

I was more than happy just to answer RS and Masi's questions (and any other queries they may have brought up flowing from my respective answers to them) and leave it at that.

It isn't me that has escalated all this to how it became!

All I ever wanted to do was answer one question that RS asked that I knew no one else could answer, even Iles who wrote the article from which RS question arose from.

Everything after was completely unnecessary.

Just people carrying internet grudges from six years or more ago.

It real is time for people to move on.

Anyway as I said in my last post, I've answered the questions, received the thanks and had a few likes to my explanations and I don't intend to be posting again until something of interest occurs in respect of the clubs finances.

There really was no need for any of this.

So there's no transfer gossip at the moment then

Think we’ve signed Sluffy again

We'll remember this when you come round with the begging bowl for subs again. 🙂

hopefully Kenny permanently

if we get him would also be happy to get Burstow in as back up but not too fussed

obviously ACD for another year would be nice

Cisokko maybe if cheap but again not  too fussed

need a new, better CB and LB

and maybe an upgrade in midfield in terms of a bastard

Kenny yes but personally I wouldn't go for Burstow, his form dropped off a cliff and not done much to convince me he can make the step up. Maybe a loan from the PL to add to the attack (I know that is Burstow now).

Definitely need more steel in midfield, but main area for strengthening is the defence, need a LB, as good as tutu has been we need cover there, and at least one CB.

Would take Cissoko if price is right, need another right sided player and hopefully ACD back on loan

Definitely Kenny if he’d come and we could get him and whilst I wouldn’t sign Burstow I would sign Forss if he’s on a free because I’m convinced we didn’t see the best of him before his injury and alongside a fit Dalby which he didn’t get before I think he’d be a cracking signing. To be fair we need improvements all over the pitch and it will be a question of how much money we’ve got to spend. Definitely though we need new right and left backs and unless Johnston signed a new deal a left centre back. No question we should bring ACD back if he’s available but I’m not convinced on Cissoko and I’d equally move Gale on as he’s struggled even at this level. We just need a team that can survive next year then build on that unless of course there are new owners now we’re back in the championship?

I think this is going to be an exceptionally active summer. There is a hell of a lot to do. I reckon there'll be at least a dozen signings, key decisions on out of contract players like Desmond and George Johnston. We also need to resolve the future of the likes of Schon, CMG| and Randall.

Obviously the exciting bit is who we bring in and the nature of that will depend on if and how much the Swiss are going to fund the show. There have been always been thoughts that an ascent to Championship football would be when they'd "go big". Let's see.

Fergal Sharkey is key to all this but there are four types of signing and it will be interesting to see what balance is struck.

1. Loanees - as a Championship club we are far more likely to have access to the ACD, Connor Bradley, James Trafford types. Top Prem talents in the making. Many of ours in League 1 have been from Championship sides.

2. Spending good money on up and coming players from League 1 - there'll be teams we know very well who have players coming to a point in their contracts where we could swoop in. Even Stockport might be vulnerable to that type of thing.

3. Overseas signings: Harkin was previously at Standard Liege, he knows those markets. Championship football will be a much bigger draw

4. Free transfers: This should not be overlooked. Hull have just been promoted having been under a transfer embargo and thus forced in to signing experienced heads at the level. They clearly made a fine job of it. Also PNE had a massive relegation scare last season and this year solidified with a series of freebies.

I suppose it’s the retained list next week.

Any thoughts?

Release for Dempsey, and the loans come to mind.  I think some of those out on loan like Abimbola might get moved on.

Edit - paulhanley, beat me to it, and probably nailed it with your views

Taylor I presume will be released- was he there yesterday?

Not sure about Forss, now we have Rodrigues.

I still have high hopes for Max Conway but defensively he was targeted a lot recently and if he’s to play further forward the competition is fiercer so I’m not sure where he fits in unless he improves significantly.

faded as the season went on.

Hopefully just a reaction to first full season at this level and part of his development.

He was on the pitch at the end. Took me a minute to work out who he was.

It's a no on Forss for me

The only ones I'd be looking to re-sign wiuld probably be JOT, Kenny, and ACD

Ta.

Anyway, I reckon that Cissoko has something to offer. He is also a bit of a character, and smiles a lot which seems infectious. Good for the dressing room.

Stockport gave us problems, like other teams did, when they put balls down our left, because there's fuck all defensive about it

it was tough enough for him in l1, be a nightmare in the championship if we have him there

needs to up his defensive game like Tutu did

Gale had a shocker and did naff all. Hardly surprising Conway struggled

You may well be right in what you say BUT the club will now be subject to the Sky Bet Championship - Squad Cost Rules (SCR) - Season 2026/27

Basically what it seems to say is that Championship clubs are limited to spending a maximum of 85% of the clubs turnover on the cost of the squad and management, including transfers, and the owners limited to investing £33m over the next 3 years.

For comparison our last accounts for the season ending 30th June, 2025 showed that wages were 98.8% of turnover and the trading loss was £13.91m

I suggest this years wages and trade loss will be equivalent or more.

The new EFL financial constraints we now will have to work to will be a major factor in what our squad will end up being - and of course be a factor also for every other club subject to the same rules.

It will be interesting to see how the club adapts to these rules and how much more the Swiss are willing to invest in the club.

One positive is that the club will be an extra £20m richer from being in the Championship.

I suggest one of the priorities of the club will be to move on as quickly as possible any perceived deadwood that we have and/or the highest wage earners who are not pulling their weight.

I would expect that to include Randall and Schon and Richard Taylor (who someone preferred to have in the team than Sam (Player of the Year( Dalby)) who still has two years left on his contact.

Release for Dempsey

I'm gonna be sad af when/if Dempsey goes. He's been the spark of life in this club throughout these difficult years. Dominated Plymouth at Wembley to give my best ever day watching Wanderers up until yesterday.

Was one of very very few to be fighting for everything in games where others had gave up. And he always spoke of how proud he was to wear the white shirt.

Love you Demps 🤍

His isolated clap to the fans after tells me he knows he’s on his way.

Right decision.

But good luck to him, interspersed with his injuries, there’s been some great contributions - Wembley 23 will be remembered forever.
