Out for two years basically with knee injuries.

Sign him up on one of those mythical pay as you play contracts.

Could be press speculation or it could be Brighton offering other players if we aren't going to be able to sign ACD.

FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Still think we need a striker 2 wingers and a midfielder.

Wingers worry me less now.

We have two, and Larra who seems decent there.

Doubt we can get another ACD, and we also have the option of Larra and Conway as wing backs.

Another striker or two paramount, and the perennial midfield bastard.

As things stand no. We need a striker, a defender (centre back) and a wing back minimum.

We always leave it late to sign players so a lot could change in the next few weeks.

The league wasn't very strong last season, a lot of the bigger clubs had stinkers but I think this season will be much tougher. We weren't ready at the start and it took us weeks to get going. I'm sure you don't need me to tell you any of this but the step in quality from League One is huge and a League One squad that gets promotion needs significant upgrading to compete. Its brutal. Look at where Birmingham finished and they strolled through League One with ease.

Nothing against you mate, but the whole Wexham/ Hollywood thing is mad. I can't belive a little club in th Championship get more publicity than half the Premiership, with a small ground with an average attendance of 10,000. I think you will struggle big time this season. I must add you have to add good manager

Assuming they haven't already done the paperwork.

According to SS in his interview with Iles we have until 12 noon tomorrow to get someone registered in time to play PNE.

"Who knows, Fergal is constantly on the phone wheeling and dealing" says SS.

So by the time you are eating your cheese and branston butties tomorrow lunch time we will know one way or the other.

Think he is out of contract.

I,d say these 2 are gonna be cover in the next week or 2. Said it several times but I would love gale to surprise us and show the potential we signed him for. (Being positive as I am so fucked off with all the fickle negativity ,particularly on fakin twitter, theres a couple on there who would love to meet outside the club shop)

Can't be writing Dong off after a few friendlies and 20 mins when we were down to 10 men

Watched the highlights of last week's game & was surprised with how well Gale did in creating chances ( they were at the far end from us ) which were all missed motly by RR.

Beecause they were all missed, Gale will get no credit for his assists which shows what a meaningless stat that is !!

Gale can only inprove on last season. No idea about Dong.

If Gale sorts his defensive work out and stops being so greedy there's a player in there.

We'll sign a random class loanee who surprises us again no doubt

hopefully it's a Dapo, Maghoma, ACD, Bradley, Trafford, Kenny, Fossey type

rather than of a shoretire or mbete persuasian

Gale will be a good player.. By the end of this season, he'll be a much better player than the end of last season. Obviously got plenty to work on, but he has all the tools

Don't think you've got away with Dalby comment Mr Boris.

We shall save that for a rainy day )

Eh, I like Dalby.. But I don't see this bulldozer type that people give him credit for. We saw it against Stockport, but he's actually got a very average record in winning duels against defenders (51% last season v 51.4% for McAtee out of interest)- Aerially, he won on average 1.6 headers per game last season (53% won). He's a fuckin big lump, but he's not necessarily a 'stick it up to the big man' target. He's a goal poacher. All his goals come from 10 yards or less, which is great by the way! Outside the box, he rarely gets involved in the build up

I got more stick than someone who said he's "spindly" or summat!!

I never criticised him

Basically, he's more of a Klasnic than a Kevin Davies and I'm alright with that

"he doesn't look strong" & "tall and gangly" were the quotes...

I'd say that Dalby isn't good enough for the Championship.

Hopefully I'm proved wrong.

I think he is good enough - but! It’ll depend who he’s up front with; whether we can get someone around him to benefit from the flick ons and the touches. If we don’t then he’ll look very isolated and ordinary.

gale did quite well last week at actually putting some balls into the box

if he can manage that on a regular basis will give more opportunities to Dalby

of course that require Gale to be good enough for the championship too

Dean on bench tonight for Gent , didn’t get on the pitch though

All opinions but I'd say he's much closer to SKD than Klasnic. For all SKDs qualities, he was another that I wouldn't trust to put a shot on target from any distance, he didn't strike the ball well, that wasn't his game.

In contrast, Klasnic was a great comination of touch, skill and thunderous strikes from around the edge of the box, a proper striker/goalscorer. SKD more a great leader of the line, and Dalby's a L1 version of him for me. Not a championship version unfortunately IMO but maybe he'll surprise me.

He's got a role to play definitely, because not many are as good as him in the air/leading the line, the ugly stuff. More than happy that he's in the squad. Just a bit concerning that currently he seems to be regarded as a guaranteed starter and its all about who plays with him, rather than instead of him at times. We'll see how it progresses, but even last season in L1 he wasn't a guaranteed starter till maybe Feb/March (getting booed at Doncaster on NY Day). It feels like the bar has been lowered rather than raised, Sheehan was in and out for a while, now no.1 midfielder. Forino and Gale the same, couldn't get a start for ages now we'd be gutted if either got injured.
