FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Suppose that’s just a general reflection of his standard. The higher conversion of chances the higher up the pyramid you go.

he’s hit 20 a couple of times inc pens. You take them out the equation and he’s hitting maybe 15? as prob a 1 in 3 chances man. He goes down to 1 in 2 chances he gets maybe 25 - 30 goals and then he’s in the champ anyway..

Wasnt that the thing with Andy Johnson at Crystal Penalty ?

If Vic goes we would need a very good replacement brought in for it to make sense to me. Macaulay Langstaff would have been ideal but he's now at Millwall. That level of player would be needed for me, rather than relying on Dan or another prospect.

The biggest thing we lose when Dion is out is his energy.

His tenacity and pest like nature is what makes him. We didn't half miss that last season.

Correct, not the best record in  the big 3rd Division matches. Missed a penalty to equalise v Ipswich after eagerly grabbing the ball from another Bolton player,. missed a glorious chance to open the scoring at Portsmouth last season, and shot tamely at Wrexham's keeper with a good chance on Saturday.I think he's a better option than Vic though

Bit like that shit bag Andy Cole who used to miss some shockers.

What was his goalscoring record like?

He scored a few against Bolton didnt he, although i remember both Yorke and Cole scoring in one match and being on the losing side...

I really wouldn't be arsed if Charles went.  David Reeves mkII.

That's where Mcatee is going to help. Him , Dion and Collins can play in a three, but if Dion is out we can still have Mcatee and his pressing to replace him. He might not be exactly the same player, but he does press well.

Charles has been poor for a considerable amount of time now. I'd much rather we have a forward who can control the ball and/or finish relatively straight-forward chances than one that runs around a lot.

....and is he was more prolific he probably wouldn't be playing in Division 3 :)

We'd have no physical presence at all up front without Vic. It's always a important option to have whether starting or coming off the bench to change the game.

I think McAtee can provide that, but he's not a proper striker in my eyes

I know it's only 3 games in but I'm yet to see anything in McAtee to make me excited about him signing. Marcus Maddison minus the headband

I was a TP man but that’s a mad shout.

Charles is the best we will get at this level who does the pressing Evatt wants and delivers 20 plus goals. I’d be gutted if he went

Past 2 weeks our 4 best players in Baxter, Rico, Sheehan and Charles are seemingly not a problem if they go. Anyone remember how shit we were without them last season?

Exactly. The only reason we didn't finish in the top 2.

All about opinions, but I honestly don't think he's one of our best four players.

I don't think he's been one of our best players for a while now.  Probably since #babygate, but not sure if that is just coincidence.

Collins and Bod upfront with CJ off the bench away at Derby in the biggest game of the season :(

Good lord above.

Nobody's fault. Just wasn't meant to be.

I'm the same

I think him and Collins are virtually the same player. Finding a way to make them and Charles to work together will be key for us.

To be fair Collins took a few games to start firing.

I thought he was great when he came on v Orient and was in to absolutely everything in that first half hour on Sunday.  Tried the early ball a few times too which is everything we need.

He was blowing out of his arse by 60 mins.

I think he will be a cult figure when he's match fit.
