At the moment they are a bigger club, full houses at home and a league higher and as for location? Are you serious? Rainey, scruffy Bolton or the English Riviera, now let me see? If it all goes pear shaped under Rooney Nathan moves on like they all do but the advantages right now are reason enough to move. Baxter has no loyalty to Wanderers we’re just a stepping stone for him so if Plymouth or any team higher up come for him I’d expect him to jump at the chance. Do you think these players live in Breightmet or Daubhill? Fwiw, plenty of players live or have lived in the area, and not only from our club. As for the money, as I said before, we don't know what he's on now and what he would be offered. He's a quality keeper and I would imagine he would have his eyes set on higher, if he wants to properly progress his career. Quote

Of course there are nice areas around Bolton but so are there around Plymouth including the seaside. We don’t want to lose Baxter obviously but if Plymouth make the right offer to both club and Player why wouldn’t he go, he has no loyalties here? There’s little question that some are going to leave and the signing of Southwood plus a failure to extend his current contract suggests to me that Nathan could be one of them. Like others I’d have hoped it would be a bigger club but if it is Plymouth I’d be disappointed but understand it. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 Not necessarily anything to do with loyalty. And certainly not location. It's about career prospects longer term. Quote
Whitesince63 Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 Dom Ballard gone to Blackpoolon loan from Southampton then. One were linked with by some. Could be a good signing for them that? Quote
Cheese Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 According to some Dion was nailed-on as signing for either Rangers or Preston a few months ago. Suspect this Baxter to Plymouth rumour will go the same way as those. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 Hope so, though it wasn't completely dismissed by Evatt. Quote
only1swanny Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 Say for example, it's a grand a week more on a 3 year deal, he'd be daft not to, He took a drop to try and get to the championship with us, Quote

Exactly. It might of course, and that's up to him, but it doesn't look a particularly promising swap. Quote

green genie Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 We’ve been liked with a Brazilian goalie currently in Portugal. Now this one I would question location being a negative factor in moving here🤣 Quote

Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 (edited) An interview with IE in the BN today. He talks about Matete and his qualities. Have a read, especially that paragraph. Reading it, for me, he's here as competition for Sheehan as much as anything else Edited August 15, 2024 by Tonge moor green jacket Quote
