Reading the BN: when he was crocked for a while last season, we played 14 games, and won just 5. This season he's only played 62% of the total minutes played.

A big risk flogging him, but we'd have to see who came in.

£750k doesn't seem much.

I thought we failed in those games because Coleman played 😀

And we did get some good draws too, had some tougher than average games, and didn't lose at home.

And scored 27 goals in 14 games, slightly above the average for the season.

Now is the time to sell. Hasn’t played a lot this season. A few niggling injuries and pushing 30.

Dion has been great for us but we’ve likely seen his best years, and if the rumoured fee is accurate, we’ve more than doubled what we paid (albeit some will no doubt go to Accy).

Obviously a terrible finisher sometimes, but the argument that he misses a lot of chances doesn’t acknowledge that he finds himself in those positions so often. If he had more composure he wouldn’t be at our level.

And can people stop with this ‘we rejected a million for Vic’ nonsense. Have my doubts that there was ever a bid in the first place, let alone at that price.
The speculation came from Pete O’Rourke every time for about three windows. Either Vic or his agent putting his name out there, nothing more IMO.

I'm sure Evatt confirmed (or claimed it) in an interview, so he's lieing if its not true, maybe not quite £1mil but definitely substantial.  And this in the BN:

Were they the same games then?

A good number of them were - Charles started by missing 17th Feb game v Charlton, I think Baxter had played a couple of games by then (Northampton & Wycombe) but can't remember when his last game was, sometime after Derby.

I don’t know that to be true or otherwise, but Iles will only report the info given to him by the club.

For balance, he said after Saturdays game he didn’t expect Dion to leave. He’s a decent journalist but I don’t think he knows a great deal where this one is concerned.

That makes even less sense!

Haha. I’m saying Iles has reported it’s a club decision. That’ll be what the club have told him.

It doesn’t mean it’s true.

Hang on. My heads hurting! I have no idea if this move has been pushed by the club or Charles. But I do know Dion has been unhappy for some time (and not hiding it).

I was just responding to a previous post that said Iles claimed it was the club decision. If true then fair enough. If not I still think they’d feed him that info to appear in control.

Anyway. Lincoln have had two chances whilst I’ve typed this 😂

Is that possession for them?

Reading the BN feed and it seems to be all them.

No, it was our possession 😳

If true, £750K seems a good amount for me. On current form, he wouldn't get a Championship gig. At League One level, only 3 teams could probably get to this sort of sum. Brum don't need him and Wrexham either don't, or were outbid.

If the relationship has broken down (and i'll reserve judgement on casting blame), it's best to move on. Huddersfield aren't a rival of ours for the rest of this season so I don't think there's any damage there.

He's been a mard arse round the training ground for a while, so best all round.

Marc Iles article speculating (just published) is no doubt a planned softening tactic, with some sort of official announcement due in the next day or so I'd guess. Would also expect to see an incoming 'announced' to soften the blow.

Personally, not too fussed. He's our best striker, but he doesn't play, doesn't want to be here (I'm told) and so we're best cashing in whilst we can.

The thought of McAtee and Collins up front for the season petrifies me, but let's see!

I have no real problem on selling Dion here - 750k for a 29 yr old who's out of form and wants to leave.

My issue is spunking the money on an attacking midfielder we didn't need.

We desperately now need a striker and are £1.2m worse off than we should have been.
