Another bit of his Pep - copying persona

Yes you’re right, now you mention it, Pep does do this a lot too doesn’t he?

Rather than making me smile now, I’m more squirming.

Peps just split up with his Mrs too.

He will be finding Christianity and falling out with Haaland next :)

We don't have to play with 10 men if he goes 😀  Collins has been here 1 year and scored at least 20, more than Charles has ever scored in the same period of time for us.  And Collins isn't even playing well.

Since Collins made his debut for us, he has scored 13 league goals in 46 games, Charles 12 in 34.

Keep them both then!

Fair enough, we can accommodate both, but I'm guessing (hoping) he's got something lined up that involves signing a replacement that doesn't fall over every time a defender challenges him from behind.  Collins is no better, and we can't play with 2 like that.  McAtee has been such a disappointment, he was meant to be the combo of physicality and half decent scorer or creator, but we're still left with trying to find someone for that role and we can't do that while keeping 4 other strikers.

I was including cups because I keep hearing Charles is a 20 goal a season striker, so cups are included.  Charles takes pens too so he should have more than Collins.

If we're just talking league, its all much of a muchness, nobody is irreplaceable, for a team generally in the top 6 they are both just average top half L1 scorers.

I remember being gutted losing our best players in years gone by but in our current state there's no one that stands out.

Dions had an awful 12 months, the Pompey miss stands out as a turning point and with his goals drying up has very little else to offer. Yes, he runs around a lot more than some of the others and shouts more at the ref but his actual contribution when he's played this season has been poor.

At least it looks like we’ll try to replace him

Please don't give this buffoon more money.

Save the funds for the new manager in the summer.

Dion like every other player in the squad is playing with zero confidence. He is snatching at chances, such as Mansfield and Rotherham. When he drops deep he is a liability, but that is the system as if he loses the in the centre with his back to goal in the centre circle, we end up totally exposed.  Problem being he is real grafter/truer so rather than hide when things are going badly he tries to get more involved which causes more problems.

It is time for him to move on. For both the club and him. The only question is the fee, assume £750k plus add ons is right. Seems ok to me. Others will say should be lots more.

You going to change your username to 'bwfcuntilmay'?

Brilliant!

He’ll be a member of the once in never out crew (until they no longer want to be in).

  • League One clubs can register a maximum of 22 players per squad.
  • Goalkeepers of any age do not count towards the 22-player squad maximum.
  • Clubs can have as many under-21 players as they want, whether they are on loan or homegrown.
Quote

Don't count =

GKs - Baxter, Southwood, Coleman,

Sharples-Ahmed (u21)

Matheson (unregistered?)

Kyle Dempsey (unregistered?)

Defenders:

1. Gethin Jones

2. Ricardo Santos

3. George Johnston

4. Josh Dacres-Cogley

5. Jordi Osei-Tutu

6. Will Forrester

7. Eoin Toal

8. Chris Forino

9. Szabolcs Schon

Midfielders:

10. George Thomason

11. Josh Sheehan

12. Aaron Morley

13. Klaidi Lolos

14. Randell Williams

15. Jay Matete

16. Joel Randall

17. Scott Arfield

Forwards:

18. Carlos Mendes Gomes

19. Victor Adeboyejo

20. Aaron Collins

21. John McAtee

(These positions are according to the club website btw)

So with Dion Charles leaving we only have one spot left to fill.

So if we replace him like-for-like then we can't move for anyone other than players who are 21 or under. Or we sell further players.

We can always deregister a player

Doubt that's a realistic option, Arfield possibly, the rest I can't make a case for anyone unless they get injured like Dempsey for the rest of the season.

I think we will sell at least one more, perhaps loan someone out too.

I'd welcome any Premier League u21 player for 6 months. Means we don't allow Evatt to cause too much financial damage if he gets it wrong, but we get a raw player who could potentially have a similar effect to Bradley/Trafford/Maghoma.

I'm trying to be considered, wait till the end of the month and see what other business we've done before wading in on this, but can't resist 🙄

Charles has bagged 20 twice despite not being a natural poacher and us never really playing to his strengths. Easy for those clapping it as good business to deride his pens and cup goals, pens still need someone to step forward and score them, they're not free hits. It's also likely Collins will score this season the 20 goals Dion's managed, but if half of them are in the Pizza Cup I won't be getting overly excited.

For what it's worth I think Collins is a more talented player and a better finisher but needs to turn up and start bagging regularly in big games against big teams.

The only saving grace would be if we signed a proper target man who can hold it up.

Because all we do is pass it between defence and goalkeeper, tie ourselves in knots and then launch it.

we don’t even get it into midfield anymore and then come back.
