paulhanley Posted January 14, 2025 Posted January 14, 2025 Getting £750K for a 29 year old striker we paid £300K for three years ago is financially decent work. Unless he's thinking CMG will actually stay fit and can play up top (or that Lolos can play there) we need a replacement. That's the fear. What on earth will he spend on next and how will he fit that person in to his system. To use the modern day footballing parlance, this is a "project" that I long stopped believing in. Quote

All those "puzzling" decisions made over the years (transfers in and out/formations/jobs for the boys/sackings/square pegs in round holes/wierd ramblings etc), that were forgiven because the "project" seemed to be generally on track pre-Oxford, are seen in a different light now that we can be more certain that he actually doesn't know what he's doing. Its been a shit show for ages when we tot up all the poor/unfathomable decisions. Quote
gonzo Posted January 14, 2025 Posted January 14, 2025 It 100% is a club decision. From the very top to the manager. Absolute fact. Quote

That’s why I said it petrifies me. He as said he will go when he can’t take them up so that’s going to be March/ April time latest Quote

bwfc4ife Posted January 14, 2025 Posted January 14, 2025 If the dion rumour is true then that’s fucking staggering that we’d sell him to a rival for such little return. If they want him they should pay and pay big. Absolutely nothing positive comes from this. 15-20 goals a season less, Evatt firmly in charge and Sharon hiding from the peters in a cupboard somewhere 😳 Ive seen bits and pieces speculating about their relationship (Evatt and dion), what’s the script? We don't have to play with 10 men if he goes 😀 Collins has been here 1 year and scored at least 20, more than Charles has ever scored in the same period of time for us. And Collins isn't even playing well. Quote

He's 29 and not been at his best this year. The off field stuff is clearly affecting him. Unless you know what the fee is, which nobody does because it'll be undisclosed, then you can't really moan that he's being sold for a little return. Quote
Lt. Aldo Raine Posted January 14, 2025 Posted January 14, 2025 I sometimes feel like I'm the only person on here who's not ITK but if the reports about him and Evatt's relationship breaking down are true then he probably wants out and it seems there's currently only one bidder so our hands are a bit tied Quote
Casino Posted January 14, 2025 Posted January 14, 2025 Looked like evatt was having a good old chinwag with darikwa at full time Quote
desperado Posted January 14, 2025 Posted January 14, 2025 Well bang goes the desperado revolution of 4-5-1, built around Charles up top 😂. In all honesty, it doesn’t surprise me, it confirms what some of us had heard re Charles - the “club” wanted rid. It all just feels a bit shit to me. I liked him. IMO we are selling our best striker and most definitely the hardest working striker. But when his best performances have been in a green shirt most recently, then I suppose the writing was on the wall. I think he’ll make Huddersfield, a side much better placed for promotion, a better team, which says it all really. God it’s shit at the minute. But at least we’re through to the last 8 of the EFL trophy 😩 Quote

bwfc4ife Posted January 14, 2025 Posted January 14, 2025 I’m sorry lads but I simply don’t agree, criminal decision making for me. The mon leaving should be the knobhead in the dugout Quote

If not, I think you’ve heard what you want to hear, not what he actually said. Quote
