We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Sell our best players to a potential playoff rival. Are we that desperate for the cash?

Don’t think we will end up above Huddersfield whether he goes or stays

They could finish 3rd and us finish 6th then we would play them in the first round of the playoffs where Charles will have way too much pace for Santos.

Or Finnish fourth and us fifth and Dion misses an open net at Wembley.😉

Well who'd Ave thunked it

Which is likely seeing he’s missed the most “big chances” in the league this season

Don’t mind selling Dion tbh.

As much as I love his workrate, he has missed far too many sitters. We might have gone up if he hadn’t bottled that chance v Pompey.

Getting older too, may not have reached his ultimate ceiling as he’s still in his “peak years” but I’ll take a fee for him and move on without being too upset.

Pretty much how I see it.

We need a different type of striker, we’re not going to sell either Collins or McAtee yet, so it’s Dion or Vic.

I’d rather it be Vic, but Dion probably has most value and as you point out it will reduce from the next window due to age and contract length.

It only seems ok though if we go and get a target man that means we can play a different way. If we just bring in another weak as piss 5ft 8 striker then we may as well not bother.

Proper foolish letting Dion leave this, again purely an ego thing.

Even if it's the young lad that was at Walsall coming in on loan, matters little, not our player, not going to offer the same sort of pressing and running.

Really frustrating watching Evatt being allowed to make squad and transfer decisions that will impact us for years to come when he should have been long gone and hopefully will be gone before the next window.

I'm of this opinion too. I've been patient but I'm done with evatt. There are so many reasons and times in the last 10 months to bin him off. When I was told about him selling dapo for £500k and spending it on Victor I felt bilious. He has an awful record in recent transfer windows, has spent £6m in his tenure and made us worse.

Always sad to see any good player leave.  Even more so when I've just got tickets to see us play his new employers.  Watch him tear us a new one.  Hopefully we're getting a lot of cash for him which the manager can spend on a technically gifted midfield princess.

£750K is daylight robbery.

Re his missed chances, a striker like him, especially at this level needs more than one a game.

He will thrive in a counter attacking team.

I agree with most of that ... not sure on the "I've been patient" bit though.

He's not that good, he won't be tearing anyone a new one.  I'm reading about a different player to the one I've watched last couple of years (admittedly I take more notice of home games).

The optics of selling your top striker to a promotion rival mid-season are truly terrible.

May as well chuck a load of petrol on a roaring fire.

Absolutely, and given Evatt and Markham’s recent success in the transfer market, I’m not particularly confident in what we’ll replace him with.

Is £750k confirmed and how long is there left on his contract with us?

Given the sums we’ve paid recently for Schon, Dan, McAtee, Collins, Randall etc. it seems very low for a proven striker at this level, especially when selling to a club who have been operating on a Championship budget (and will be hoping to do so next season).

Has this been confirmed anywhere ?  Huddersfield have just bought that Joe Taylor who we were linked with & seems to be a younger version of Dion.

Brett Ormerod deal til end of season

not too bothered. he's nearly 30 and I can't remember his last good performance. Crap first touch and misses far too many sitters. Great work rate but if there is any truth in this £750k figure then I wouldn't mind seeing him go.

Not sure how you can form an opinion on my patience? Many other supporters and fellow St holders that are mates, have wanted him out before I did...

That's me being patient 😌

There HAS to be someone else coming in then surely?

Looking to a bench when we need a goal and only seeing Vic sat there fills me with abject horror!

To be fair, we aren't anyone's promotion rivals.

Bad bit of business imo.

If what I got told a few weeks ago is true, and I have no reason to think it isn't, this isn't really a surprise. Can't say too much but it's cuntish behaviour from Evatt and naive thick behaviour from Charles. Both of which are easy to believe.

How much of this 750k goes to Accy Stanley?
