Agree with all of that, especially about half Collins goals being in less pressurised games - its annoying that they all get counted as one when a player's stats are compiled.  Scoring away at Barnsley is given the same credit as at home v Villa kids.  As you say it would make a very nice change if we noticed him away at Wrexham, or home to Brum.

I’m loving this Johnny 😂

Away goals - 2

Big Games Away - 3

Outside the box - 1.5

Tap-ins set pieces just the - 1

Penalties 0.1

The only player I think we can’t replace as gone . Hopefully we can bring some one else in who can play back to goal to create more for the midfield players  were not replacing Charles fox in the box type  with similar or less money .

i am hoping we’re going to off load a few more now clear the decks a bit for the summer and hopefully clean slate  for a new manger and a transfer kitty

Yes please! Big lad who is a genuine target man, occupies defenders, wins flick ons, causes clearing headers to fall short - ultimate aim of making life as easy as possible for Collins next to him.

McAtee? 😬

Yeah but it made me feel nice at the time.

To be fair, I like Thomason. He's limited, but makes the best of himself through attitude and graft. If some of his more talented teammates had his mindset and work-ethic, we'd be doing alright.

When he's on it, there's not many better in this division. He just needs the armband taking off him. He's too inexperienced to carry such a burden. He also needs another teammate to play midfield with him, as he's usually on his own

I thought it was to be honest mate. Maybe not the biggest but I remember him from playing against us (one of the few I do) for being a complete pain for our centre backs, using his body well, being physical etc.. I’ve seen very little of it since he’s been here and I just don’t think he’s got the physical presence to be what we’re all after.

I actually think he’s far more like Collins than I expected and his goal on Saturday showed what he can do when playing as a genuine striker off the shoulder.

Still stick to my thoughts from the start of the window. Sell Vic as well Charles. Bring in a genuine big man and then a fast as fuck loan. Big man + Collins as your first choice strike force with McAtee snapping at their heels. Fast as fuck lad to offer something different and scare big clogger defenders in the last 15 mins.

You sum up Captain Legohead very well. Watching him last night he really puts a shift in. I know we are all armchair managers but him and Morley would seem a very sensible 2 in a midfield 3, Tomo on left side , Morley on right and either Sheehan or Matete as the middle one. Instead we keep trying to squeeze players into formations.

I remember years ago someone saying good mangers sign players that help develop the team. Bad managers sign good players and then try to fit them in.

I don’t think modern terminology helps make the distinction between types of striker.

Collins shouldn’t be judged as a “centre forward” striker cos he isn’t one, he’s a secondary striker or “inside forward” not a goal machine/ finisher. Many made similar assumptions about and expectations of Elmander.

If we can find/afford an out and out “centre forward” type who the likes of Collins and McAtee can play off, it will be an upgrade.

Similarly I’ll be delighted when McAtee scores a goal of importance. Don’t think we’d be any worse off without his goals contribution currently.

Granted him opening the scoring at Northampton could be seen as crucial.

Dion Charles not been the same player since his injury last season .

Lost some pace and gets bundled off the ball by savvy defenders .

Then their is the tap ins he's missed .

Good business I think

Wouldn’t be surprised if he scores a couple against our back line in a couple of weeks though

And this. 🤢

The 29-year-old said: “I was immediately attracted to the ambition of the club and prospect of playing my part in getting Huddersfield Town back where we belong, so I’m delighted to have completed the move and become a Town player.

“In discussions with Mark Cartwright and Michael Duff, you get excited about where the club want to be and the levels expected from the players who are here. I’ve only heard great things about the club and team from Brodie and Callum, and I believe this is the right move for my career and somewhere I can look to push myself to become an even better player.

“There’s a really important second half of the season to come, but with the team in great form and the mood around the club so positive, I’m just looking forward to pulling on the shirt for the first time and showing what I’m all about.”
