I think Sheehan epitomises a weakness in our team; he can have an impact if the opponents give him time and space and let him play. However as Oxford showed, he can be neutralised. He is physically weak and has an inclination for backing out of challenges. Teams that have us sussed, therefore can dilute his impact. When he plays for Wales, he is often snuffed out and has little impact as a water carrier. We need a bigger, tougher version, in my opinion, not cheap, I expect?

Sheehan is the very least of our problems.

I'm not sure about that

he's been very much a part of our problems in recent seasons - great when allowed to play, no where to be seen when not

he dissappears all too often and when he's muscled out our midfield is non existant because it's a man down

if we aim to play the same way with him in the same role next season, then it's a problem that needs to be addressed by bringing in someone that actually allows Sheehan to play his game

i.e.

a bastard

That's what I'm getting at. He'll be a massive loss if he goes.

Just behind Charlotte Dawson in the regular appearance stakes 🙄

I'm not convinced he would be

if he stays fine, if he goes fine, I wouldn't be paticulary arsed either way, he was always one of the first to dissppear when it got tough

if he's part of SS plans then it will be interesting to see how he appoaches it because we can't be going into next season look to play a combination of Sheehan, Morley and GT each week

or at least i don't think we can, we need at least one new face in there, if SS is of the same opinion, it will be interesting to see who will be left out

Wouldn't be the end of the world of course, but if his role is still required, we're not getting anyone better.

The bells I have heard a couple of rumours we are open to offers for Sheehan have you heard the same?

I would be amazed if we weren't open to offers on every single player, if the offer is right.

Which may be different to 'shopping them around' or 'telling them to find a new club'

maybe not

of our current 3 midfield picks, I rate them in this order -  Morley, Sheehan, GT

I'm a bit meh about all of them, they all have qualities, but I'm sure we can get on fine without one or two of them so long as new faces come in, and I'd be amazed if SS didn't have at least one new midfielder on his list

I think we can do better, I hope SS can

Has Dempsey left then ?

I'd forgotten about him because he's always injured, he was shite in those last few games

I don't expect him to make any great impact next season, certainly not as a potential starter

OK. I was just checking.

At least we're not pinning our hopes on Sonny Sharples.

I don't think we can do better than Sheehan. I get the impression Evatt shot our load in the last couple of windows, so we'll be shopping in the bargain basement. Which is probably fine if all SS thinks we need is a couple of shithouses to toughen us up. I'd be amazed if there's any proper money spent, regardless of outgoings.

The consensus amongst the ITK folk is that dosh isn't an issue and SS get rid of who he wants...

Not one of them would be. Every single player is replaceable for me.

It's a long time since we've been at this point.

Know what you mean, and I feel the same. Proper damp paper bag of a squad. But we aint getting anyone technically better than Sheehan.

Well, relatively speaking yes. He has a budget, and can 'buy' players for money, but it will have it's limits. If he wants more he will need to sell.

I expect most of our work will be free's, with perhaps a couple of cash signings coming in.

I also expect a couple will leave for fee's and I can certainly see Sheehan being one of these (I'd be sad to see him go but understand thee may be financial sense in it). Of the contracted players, I also think Lolos, Dempsey and CMG will be on their way. No ITK - just my opinion.
