I'd guess the only game that exists of Hartle on film is the '58 final. I reckon if he played in todays game he'd be blowing out of his arse and a walking red card. And Bradley would get snapped in half if he played in the 50's. But it's been slim pickings at right back since colour TVs were invented, that's for sure. Quote

Met him at Brighton away after he retired and had took his family to watch us off his own back. Has a building firm or did 10 years ago anyway Quote

From right back, a long curving pass into space for Tricky Ricky to run onto and bang into the net. Back to front, accurate passing, not directly to the man, but to where he was going to be. Absolute worldy, that is under appreciated, perhaps because of its simplicity. Quote
Whitestar Posted May 18, 2025 Posted May 18, 2025 Me & wife used to do our big shop at Morrisons in town on a Friday teatime, Dave Felgate used to do his at the same time, can't say there was ever anything healthy in his trolley. Quote

He was with Mcginlay and they were ripping my mate that he looked like Austin Powers. I got their autographs on a betting slip that I had in my pocket - it was a tenner on Arsenal to win the title, which they duly did. Lost the slip. 🙄 Quote

Lolos was claimed to be quite a coup. Honestly. Another walking injury. Tutu too, too &, given the pattern he was chucked into the jury should still be out. Edited May 18, 2025 by Dr. Feelgood Quote
Lt. Aldo Raine Posted May 18, 2025 Posted May 18, 2025 I always assumed Lolos was essentially sign as back-up A player with potential to compete alongside Collins, McAtee and CMG for one of the two No. 10 positions Evatt was having us play at the time Quote
frank_spencer Posted May 18, 2025 Posted May 18, 2025 Despite how disappointing Tutu has been he's been streets ahead of Lolos. Quote
Whitesince63 Posted May 18, 2025 Posted May 18, 2025 Tutu looks like an injury waiting to happen but Lolos I think was unlucky and I think he’s suffered from not being part of a settled side, much as others have. Hopefully after a summer of renewal and either a few experienced heads and a better idea of what their positions are, we may see some of the potential from the likes of Lolos, Randall, Szabi and McAtee. I’d like to think they’re all better than they’ve shown so far. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted May 18, 2025 Posted May 18, 2025 I remember SS comments after the Birmingham win concerning Tutu. Eulogised over his ability, but spoke about needing to do it more regularly, and that it can be the case with such players. Consistency would put them in higher leagues I suppose. Quote
Cheese Posted May 18, 2025 Posted May 18, 2025 Haven't Schumacher and Lolos got some history of a falling out at Plymouth? Quote

That's a bit harsh on Desmond, he's got talent. He's not one of those players we've signed for a million and then wondered why. We paid a small fee for a good winger. I still think Lolos will have a career in L1, he's got something, but without making excuses for him he's been played in all sorts of positions that aren't his own, and clearly SS doesn't rate him. I don't think his heart is in it, he knows he's not staying. Quote

I’d like to think they’re all better than they’ve shown so far. I'd agree overall, but IMO the only one of those 4 that will start league games for us next season is McAtee. I'd say Lolos won't start any barring an injury crisis, Randall might get an odd game when the first choice is unavailable, Schon will be a squad player and McAtee might fight it out with Collins to partner a CF. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted May 18, 2025 Posted May 18, 2025 If SS wants a different type of striker, then surely McAtee isn't starting regularly. Strangely, I can see SS bringing Randall into the fold more early doors to see if he can become more of a regular. He's got a long contract, so may as well try, unless a loan out is available. Controversial maybe, but SS may look at his unbalanced midfield, see who is on a shorter contract, is older and would generate some interest. Quote
