That's easier said than done, or we'd have maybe got one in already?  And if better is available at the price, Huddersfield mustn't know about him (I realise that's too simplistic, as fans we've watched these players for years and still can't agree who's better than who).

But Hudds will be aware of his injury record and are still reportedly prepared to pay for him rather than sign someone less injury prone, presumably because they can't find someone better available.

Hudds want Thomason, don’t think he’s injury prone?

Big fan of Forrester as you can see he's a proper throwback centre half, will throw himself at everything but last year of contract which would be a risk if we we're to extend it with his injury problems. It makes sense cashing in on him, I wouldn't have said so a few months ago but missing a pre season is going to make it tough for him. Add to it that the others like Toal/Forino are also injury prone, can't really be carrying all of them on our books, if it means getting rid of one & getting an experienced leader who's a bit of a stalwart then don't really mind it. Regarding Thomason I know a lot would snap their hands off for 750k but if Huddersfield are willing to start at that then surely we can get a million which will be a little under what Barnsley are getting for Connell who are the same age, similar experience & games which seems a fair price for us.

Personally I’d want to keep both, if we’re going to push for play offs/autos then I can’t see that we’ll be able to bring in better replacements for the figures being touted.

Forrester is a warrior and a miles better defender than GJ. Did anyone see that typical cock up of his on Friday? Sums him up.

Thommo I’d take every day of the week over Sheehan

FWIW I thought we should’ve got double what we did for AC too, we’re shite at selling players in the main.

Forrester maybe a warrior but his hamstrings are made of cotton thread.

Maybe, but it’d take that over GJ getting turned inside out and lack of pace

It's not good if he's not fit enough to play though, is it?

I really like Forrester as a defender but I can't ignore his injury record

get them both gone, not good enough

the outgoings are exciting me more than the incomings

I'd say Taylor and Forino will be our pairing anyway tbh

It seems like he might prefer Taylor as a LB but I'm not sure

I think he’ll sign another LB, Taylor’s there until we sign one.

Definitely Forino/Taylor at CB.

Forinos is to injury prone constantly in and out same  with toal your centre half’s need to be consistently  playing together to get a understanding

Who's gonna be captain then if GT goes?

The fact that this question is a bit of a head-scratcher tells you exactly why SS wants to sign a couple of characters/leaders.

You're probably right

So Conway is a write off?

Not a write off, but I'd be concerned if we went into the season with him and him alone

His most likely role this season is to compete for a starting spot

If we're playing 4231, then there's currently 4 players for two spots. GT, XS, JS, AM. Simmons has been brought in for a reason, so he seems destined to start. Morley has been in the best form of the other three. At best Thomasson is now in a rotation. He's not gonna be 1st choice playing week in week out anymore. He's the one who's attracting interest, so as long as the fee is right, we might as well cash in and reinvest.

It's as if form, suspension, formation flecibility and ... most of all, injuries don't affect us.

What rubbish, he was out previously because of a damaged toe not a hamstring. Personally I’d say that if he’d been told he isn’t going to be first choice he’d expressed a wish to leave. He said that last season he was thinking about it before he got his run. Like Southwood I think he just wants to be starter most every week which he won’t be here. That could mean his injury is a hoax and he’s been looking for another club where he’s more likely to be first choice. Personally I’d be very sad to lose him because I think he’s a really committed defender. If it’s County then so be it if his hearts not here but as for George if Huddersfield’s bid is £750k I’d be telling them to do one.

I was just replying to @only1swanny about Forrester

I like Forrester and more than happy to keep him, but I wouldn't have him down as faster than Johnston, or any of our defenders, often gets caught out for pace.  Toal probably the fastest of those left from last season.  Santos was always expected to recover well and catch anyone that's got a couple of yards on him, I don't see the same speed in Forrester.
