July 15, 20251 yr All this panicked talk of what other teams have done seems a bit melodramatic. We've made 6 signings ourselves so far this summer and that won't be the last.

We've made 6 signings ourselves so far this summer and that won't be the last. Its strange how a team's likely prospects seem to be dictated by "how many signings". Like the 20 players still there from last season and/or the number of players sold/released are irrelevant. Or who the manager is, or how fit the players are. As long as you get your incomings into double figures you're favourites for promotion. We're about 8th currently. If we can bring in 3 or 4 more that none of us have heard of we'll be competing for the top 2.
July 15, 20251 yr I'm impressed by Blackpools signings but I can't see anyone who they've outbid us for or even if theyve spent more money. I'd say they've been quite shrewd more than anything. We've done ample business thus far, we just don't know much about who we've signed.
July 15, 20251 yr I was impressed initially with Blackpool incomings, but if you break it down from last season they have lost Carey and Offiha and look like they will lose Apter....Those Three stood out for Blackpool.....Added to that they already had Ennis And are currently without a keeper i doubt currently they are as strong as they were January to May of last season Edited July 15, 20251 yr by masi 51

Zero managerial experience into a potentially big club with very expectant fans means he’ll really have to hit the ground running. Very risky strategy by the Terriers but they clearly think he’s worth it.

July 15, 20251 yr I think I am underwhelmed because if you look at the end of last season we ended up with McAtee and Collins as our front 2. Of those I think the majority of us would rather we had kept Collins than McAtee. But £££ talks so no problem him going, but his replacement is injured. So we desperately need more upfront. SS said at end of last season we needed a more balanced squad age wise and I was looking forward to a couple of older heads coming in at the moment it is not happened. My personal bug bear is that we do not have an obvious captain. I have no real opinion on our signings, because I have not heard of any of them before - not their fault , and I hope they do well obviously but can not excited about players I do not know. (Dapo was the same when he landed so let’s hope there are some gems in there) The last few weeks of last season were hard work as anyone who did Lincoln and Barnsley will testify. Sure come start of season I will be more excited and we have already planned Barnsley away. Maybe I am just a grumpy old man !

We’ve signed a number of less-established youngsters (and have a few of our own) who could be anything. Charlie Warren looks and sounds very promising. We spent a fortune on “names” last summer, and look what happened. Edited July 15, 20251 yr by Rival Son

Methinks the transfer business will crank up now the marbella trip is done and we have a better idea of what is and what is not needed.

True, we have the makings of a competitive team but there’s still room for improvement and I think we all want to know what the final squad will look like, especially as we get almost daily news about our rivals shaping up. And were trying to bed in a totally new system so would be helpful if the players coming are in earlier than later

We never had 3 goalkeepers during big Sams era in the Prem, it was Jussi and 40 year old Kevin Poole, who had been injured for over a year when we signed him. It was similar with Al-Habsi and Ian Walker too.

TBF of course we hear almost daily news about our rivals, there are 23 other clubs in our league even if we don't think all will be competing with us (or at least hope so!)
