Totally disagree, the new set up will suit Vic perfectly and I’d expect Schu to give him every opportunity to prove it.

It would probably suit him but he months of being remotely fit and won’t be to the standard needed. It’s sad but reality

FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

you could see Bradley was a good un from the off

you could see Beck wasn't, neither was Shoretire, Mbete,  etc etc

I was just going off what Newcastle fans thought about him from what they'd seen and said ahead of him signing for us

he was surpisingly average at best

I always disagreed on Beck, he looked better than the alternatives we were playing to me, loads of pace, very direct and a decent left foot.  But he hardly played, IE preferred Williams, John and I think Mbete.  Beck has got 2 loans at championship clubs since then, although I'm not saying he's proven at that level, getting a loan and being proven are two different things.

It wouldn’t suit him at all. Yes, he looks like he’s best when operating in and around the box from crosses (which granted is part of this set up), but he can’t hold a ball up, he’s no target man, he couldn’t do half of what Burstow did in his role as lone striker.

I’m of the opinion that I’d be surprised if became a material part of the squad again.

I think by the time he returns that competition will be in its latter stages

Wouldn't surprise me if that was the case- hence me saying I don't know when he's due back.

I suppose its possible that we're still in it though.

Maybe SS has unfinished business at Wembley..🤣

I thought that too, IF he is healthy then having him here would be a massive plus.

Would be a bit of a statement.

With folk comparing Conway to Alonso though, it seems somewhat apt to have another dodgy driver in out ranks.

You're an inveterate optimist. You must find being constantly wrong very disrupting.

It's very, very vaguely possible he'll bench a handful & may get his studs dirty for 10 minutes a handful of time. I doubt even that tbh & I'm just trying to be nice to you.

We don't play with 2 up front.

We play with 2 wingers/attacker with one up front and a no 10.

That no 10 is Randall or McAtee.

I posted this before, but I've a feeling that we'll use Burstow or another striker in that 10 role off Dalby from time to time. So a third striker is definitely needed.

Talk about Dapo moving on.

Any idea if we had any type of sell on clause in there ? Or should I just ask Craig ?

I think for now we just need to settle for the fact that we've blooded a player from the academy and he's taken to first team football as if to the manor born. It's a milestone moment for us as a club. Let's revisit his value and saleability at the end of this season.

It is also a mark of what a good year on loan can do for a young pro. I hope one or two others get the same opportunity before the deadline on 1 September. Inwood is a prime example.

I think Conway's success means Inwood going on loan is more likely.

Taylor can play full back and centre back.

Hes just signed for TNT

Thought he was retiring with his injuries.

He had a broken leg and other injuries from a serious car crash at Xmas, and was expected to be out for a year. In June he came on as a sub for Jamaica. He’s 35.

Man is a machine and even now, a nightmare for defenders. But basically, although versatile, is a winger. Always liked him despite his shortcomings.

Surely clickbait ?

I predicted he would join luton

But i didnt see  them getting relegated

He strikes me and his history supports this, as somebody who may well end up in france

he goes out on loan to other forums every other week

he needs to prove himself on here, that he's 100% with us and not paying lip service to the opposition

if he can do that, he can stay, otherwise he's out

no more loans

Make him sign a 'pay as you post' where he does the paying

I agree.

Sometimes criticised for only scoring in the 6 yard box- well buggerfucktwat, I'll take that, so long as he does it on a regular basis.

And not being very good at heading the ball, holding it up, running with it or passing.  If he plays any games for SS assuming we sign another striker I'll be amazed, bench at best but he won't be part of SSs plans, he's already showing his ruthlessness.

We've got guys to do those things.

I doubt very much the manager wants another.

A goal scorer; a fox in the box type perhaps.

If we can't get one this window, then why wouldn't the manager look at him?

As soon as SS sees victor play he will have him out the door as quick as he can

Nothing wrong with being an optimist Dr, you should try it sometime and if I am wrong sometimes that’s life but constantly I think not. I may well be totally wrong about Victor, only time will tell but then I’ve championed his case through all the criticism. The only time he was ever played centrally was at Burton before we signed him and if you look at his 15 goals, all but two were inside the box. He didn’t spend time holding it up or chasing defenders down like Dion he just got into positions in the box and scored. I think SS will give him a chance once he’s fit but who knows? I certainly hope he does but time will tell.

He hasn't with McAtee, CMG, Desmond for example.

Our central defenders also got pilloried last season too, and they're mostly still here and playing.

Clean slate and all that.

If SS doesn't think he's up to it, or will fit in, then he won't be around.

I'm sure he will have a look at how he plays in training though, before dismissing the bloke out of hand.

Apart from the games he picked him in when he took over up to his injury you mean?

Optimist….i reckon more mentalist but I blame your age 😁

he probably will give Vic a chance. He still keeps piping on about CMG despite him being useless

Ha, yes, senior moments I believe!! I hope SS does give him a run because I genuinely believe he can still come good but then maybe I am the inveterate optimist? 🤷‍♂️😁

If we can get him up to speed by December itd be madness not to try him

I guess he has more league goals than anybody else in the squad?
