So they didn't 😄 But they finished 1 point behind Ipswich. Thankfully the team finishing 3rd doesn't always get to the play off final!

I'm not about to stick up for Dykes without ever having seen him play (although he's scored goals for Scotland & QPR). It was more that they had 2 strikers to bring on plus more that didn't get on.

Since his QPR days he scored 3 in 46 appearances for Brum and 3 in 20 at Charlton

He's shit

FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Did you get all that out of a fortune cookie or are you subject to insider information that nobody else has? 😁

Yes.

I just looked up Hierro's stats and one thing I didn't realise is we didn't sign him from Real Madrid.

Had a year as a money grabbing has-been in Qatar before he came here "on the recommendation of Steve McManaman" according to Wiki.

Only started 15 league games for us but made 35 appearances including as sub and cups.

He maybe struggled in away games defensively but I never once came away from watching him at the Reebok without being in awe of his class on the ball.

As a centre half, he was humbled by Grant Holt at Norwich.

Only on here can I find some of my day taken up with making a case for a player I've never seen play, that plays for clubs I never watch 😄

But he seems to get moves in the championship, so somebody must rate him. And he was joint 3rd top scorer for Charlton 😄 (and only started 16 games).

I'll move on now!!

That's Big Sam's fault for playing him out of position at that stage of his career.

Although Holt didn't join Norwich till about 4 years after Hierro retired so maybe not.

Owen Coyle used to get jobs 🙂

Course he's not thinking that, but we all know our next striker signing is going to be a nailed on starter. He'd have to play himself out of the team rather than for eg Dong or Junior who have to play themselves into the team.

Millwall got to the play off final and in their last league match they brought on Cundle and Dykes as subs. We brought Hardie on and he's the only option we have. On their squad list they have 8 strikers, no idea who most of them are but in comparison we've got 4, none of which are proven at this level unless you count RR.

There aren't many champ clubs where a striker signed this week will be starting next week, but we're one of them.

But surely what the player thinks is all that matters? Max Dean isn't going to turn down Millwall because he's worried about getting past Lyndon Dykes. He's more likely to look at that situation and fancy his chances of playing in the Premier League next season.

People look at Johnny Kenny and say he's never going to get a game at Celtic. I've no doubt he believes he's the best striker there and will prove it when given a chance. Not many footballers (or athletes in general) are good at making detached appraisals of their own ability.

True … but that’s why they employ managers and/or agents, to take the emotion out of things and get the best out of their careers.

Sky Sports reporting we’ve agreed a £750k fee for a 🇨🇦

Kenny on the bench for Celtic. Can't see him leaving now.

24 hours after it broke.

Looks like it is going to happen, but it seems unusually public by our standards.

Presumably no medical done yet neither.

If he doesn’t come on tonight and is not in the squad on Saturday, I can see him leaving, not necessarily to us

I'm not sure how his presence or otherwise necessarily points one way or another.

Celtic and Brighton are both using full squads in Euro qualifying.

If Celtic reach the actual Champions League they will loads of extra money to spend so could bring in extra players.

I think the whole thing is done and was done before we heard about it yesterday.

Is that a guess or have you heard a little more???

I seems the player holding up the scarf is Charlie Paye

Looks legit. Grainy as heck but I think that's Pete Oliver and either Marcus or Jacob taking the photo.

Is it Max Dean?

It's definitely not the Canadian even though there is the flag

Double signing?

There are various hoops to jump through first like registering at the Home Office, etc. A formality but not done yet.
