Is the problem that our strikers can't put the ball in the net, or is it that our midfield is so shit they're creating nothing but scraps?

Probably both.

Add that to a defence that can't defend...

Magennis would bag a hatful if we

1) could get ball

2) he wasn’t knackered playing the role of 3 people all match.

3) we could cross

4) we could create a goal scoring chance for him

he had 2 chances on Saturday. One header early doors where he shoved the defender over and got a good head of the ball.

and a 25 yard curler from no where.

orher than that he spent the entire match chasing shadows and getting zero service

If we're going to sign defenders we need some with pace, I think part of our problem is we have to play so deep as most of our defenders dont have a prayer if the ball ends up behind them and cant deal with quick players running at them. So that ends up dragging our midfield back to prevent there being a huge gap between midfield and defense.

Spot on that. I thought on Saturday when Donaldson came on and played near him (I know we were chasing the game) they caused Preston some problems.

Agree with all that but you forgot his last minute header tipped over by their keeper .....had you left early ?

Basically unless we go two up top we wont score & if we go two up top we will concede on the break  which means we are shite in midfield really .

he has only played at a lower level and averages 1 goal in 4.

You have a small hat

Could we us him better, almost definitely but he is not a goal machine

From what I remember I don't think he'd be much use in our position.

Not up top on his own, be better with a lump up top to play off.
