But they made out like it was all sunshine and roses once in admin - which very clearly it isn't. Delaying going in was wrong in hindsight - but a solvent sale would have saved us from years of pain.... Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted May 20, 2019 Posted May 20, 2019 What was Parky doing, talking to administrators about the kids? Or is this bollocks. Obviously makes sense on the face of it that offers can't be made; but presumably he's told the accountants who he'd like offers to be made to eventually, even if it's just in the form of an unofficial "stick with us for the time being and we'll sort it" to the youngsters. tomski Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Connell and 3 other youngens have been given another years scholarship Quote
HomerJay Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Magnificent news. Even if it's just to ensure we don't lose them on the cheap. Quote
kent_white Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Lovely stuff. Not sure how we've managed it in admin but heartening nonetheless! Quote

Steejay Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Bloody hell - good news at last! Latest scares are about Brockbank so let's hope we can keep him too. These guys are our future, one way or another - whether they do it on the pitch or we sell them for decent fees. Let's hope they do it on the pitch when we sell out away in our first game. Quote

Not sure - we had options to extend them on scholarship contracts - which may have been triggered automatically. I think a lot more is potentially being read into this than it means. Its good news on the face of it - but Connell on a scholarship contract does not strike me as being secured down for the long term - I'd have thought he'd command a pro contract elsewhere. Hopefully though, it is a sign though that things are moving in the right direction. Edited May 21, 2019 by bwfcfan5 Quote

Biggish Dave Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Decent L1 defender but one of the players who went on strike so bollocks to him Quote
Kane57 Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Part of the leading group who pushed for it so he can fuck off Quote
Casino Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Ever gave owt less than 100 % except when he refused to play He's another getting some shit Hope he takes his 7 iron with him Quote
ErnestTurnip Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Really won me over did Beevers, would have actually kept him over any other defender and thought he improved over his time with us. And then he refused to play so as outlined above he can fuck off. Quote
HR Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Another member of the chicken run, expect there will be more. Hopefully some will ask themselves what kind of lasting legacy they could be part of at the club by being part of the team that turned things around. Players holding their nerve could be rewarded much more than a mid table finish with Peterborough could ever offer, the rest can fuck themselves. Quote
bolton va va Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Beevers, Wheater, Lowe & O'Neil were the ones i would have wanted to keep from last season's performances. Magennis & Oztumer, i'd have kept as proven div 1 players. but any of the strike leaders or who refused to play at Forest, can fuck right off. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Ah well. Presumably they were at the top of a list of large, well paying clubs. Ok he might want to be paid on time, but it's not hugely aspirational. Quote
barrycowdrill Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Least we can lay the ball boys off down the ESL now then Quote
