Good luck to the lad. they are professionals and nothing else. don't blame him for leaving.

Pointless move for him football wise though as can't see him breaking into Premiership first 11 anytime soon. Financially though.....ching ching

Will end up out on loan somewhere. Maybe us but I doubt it.

Will we still get anything if his contract is null and void?

20p for developing him.

Pointless having our academy may as well have lads coming when they are released from big clubs

Think he meant ching ching for Connell not us, his contract is up anyway and we will just get minimal compensation for him being a second year academy person or whatever they call it these days.

We should really have sold him when there was interest in the last window but it was a decision that was never going to be made.

Ah that would make more sense.

Such a bloody shame.

When they signed Alli from MKD they loaned him back; it worked for all parties.

MK dons had a big transfer fee we wouldn’t meaning it would work for all parties.

Good luck to him, don’t blame for wanting out but if he was one of the ones who didn’t fancy playing forest would you want him back on loan?

I would imagine they’d want to loan him to a club nearer to London and one with more of a footballing reputation (unless we pot Parky). But yeah we’ll get a minimal transfer fee because he’s a second year scholar and hasn’t signed a professional contract.

See this is where yet again, for whatever reason, we've appear to have fucked up in the transfer market

He's playing first team games, looks a good prospect yet he's not even signed a pro deal

If not, why not?

Not sure we have been in a position to sign any contracts since February, even earlier perhaps

He has been offered a pro deal.

£300 a week....

His agent told him not to sign.

The rest of the squad aren't on or being offered £300 a week.

No, but if he's not even on that and not been paid in weeks you can see why he might think twice

He's on a scholarship - he was paid. Although it was late, but before the pros.

If he'd been offered £1k a week he'd have probably signed in January.

Let’s not forget that he only came in to the team by virtue of the writing being on the wall, so naturally by that point the ship had sailed in terms of being able to offer much of a contract. Agent has landed incredibly lucky that he’s had the exposure of first team action but at a stage where it was too late for us to tie him down.

Minimum wage is age specific

Aye, but you get the point, NMW for most people is £8.20 an hour = £310 a week if your full time

I’d go as far as saying that offering Connell £300 a week is a bit insulting to the lad

I’m surprised that we have been in a position to make any offers at all but if we are doing then they should be a bit more realistic, for me anyroad
