Mantra Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 17 days since our last signing, feels like a fuckin lifetime. How many days until the league starts again? Quote
Mantra Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 https://www.efl.com/news/2021/november/efl-fixture-schedule-202223/ Just read that football starts again on July 30th for League 1. Didn't realise it was that early but must be due to the World Cup. Sorry if I'm late to the party on that one but didn't realise it was as soon as that. 65 days and counting 😎 Quote

paulhanley Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Great that we've got Santos for another three years. Hopefully we can sign another CB of his quality this summer as well. Quote

So for us, the season is stretched by 2 weeks. I'm taking that as a positive, that there are 2 more Saturdays, so in theory 2 less midweek games. Quote
Mantra Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Wonder how much of a raise he's got in his new deal. I'm gonna throw a random number out and suggest 4k p/w Quote
Take Hunt Off Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Brilliant news , Santos is key for us & our progress. Just need another big lad at his side , hopefully with an eye for a set-piece goal or two. Quote
Dr. Feelgood Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Good stuff. Now, tell Rangers to f'cough and get Dapo settled down. One new C/H and a footballing hard-man D/M & anything else is a bonus. Quote

Johnnyrotten Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Yes 41 compared to 39 last time, so 2 less midweeks in theory. Last year made worse by the Covid related cancellations. Who knows how many will get rearranged because of international call ups; when the fixtures come out I'll be checking which coincide with international weekends and our games will only be pencilled in, along with FA Cup 3rd round day. Are we still going to spend all summer debating whether bringing kick off time forward 15 minutes will stick another 5000 on the gate? Quote
Offshore Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 I've said it before, but Santos is our modern day N'Gotti. Well chuffed he's signed for our and his future. Quote

Factor in League Cup (and any progression in that) and pizza trophy and we'll still have a fair share of midweekers but any possible reduction in Tuesday games we can get would be great. Quote
Mantra Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Just seen this - have another keeper lined up according to a twitter rumour. No idea who that would be or whether it's bollocks Quote
Traf Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Either way, Trafford won't be here on the first day of pre-season training. He's with England U-21's until mid-June and then will presumably take a break. Quote
