Fair play to the lad is he's knocked on Evatts door.

Shows hes up for it and not afraid to speak his mind and fight for his place.

Better than sulking, causing grief or asking for a transfer. That bog eyed manc could learn a few things.

Hope he gets his chance and proves himself.

I agree. Feel like out of the majority of the squad he’s had the least opportunities

if he didn’t fit in to Evatts plans he would’ve been shipped out by now. Only fair he’s given a chance in the role Evatt thinks is probably his best

Can’t bang average coaches who voted for Brexit not give their opinion on here now?  Pair of nob heads you 2. 🤣

Some honest reasoning there from Evatt. Conversely to my previous comments, he’s said quite a bit more than I thought he would!

I’d be surprised if it was today, more likely Tuesday that he gets a shot in the “Number 10 role”

We’ve also got Sheehan coming back to fitness who could be a number 10 contender, if sadlier doesn’t take his chance and take it soon, then can’t see him lasting past the January window.

I had very high hopes for Sheehan but he did little to impress before his injury & it remains to be seen how he recovers.... If I had to put money on it right now I'd say Sadlier is the safer bet to make his mark.

But IE has to give him that chance

Especially as he gave him a 2.5 year contract

I'll te you what he did do ... made our dead-ball situations vastly more effective. Corner, free kicks started to matter for the first time in years.

But no better than morley

Fwiw, ive no opinion on sheehan, probably only saw him less than 10 times

Def too early to be writing him off

Sadlier is getting better by the day, without playing....is he iranian?

I find it a bit strange that IE signed Sadlier at all, other than as a sub.  I have no idea how he persuaded him to sign if he was honest about our style of play.  How did the discussions go?  We are playing with wingbacks and I know you aren't one but could you just fill in towards the end of games.  Not a criticism, I'm genuinely puzzled why he signed him if its only 7 months later he's saying "maybe we have to look at giving him a chance in the no.10 role".  That's a bit like signing Charles and after he's played on the wing for 6 months, saying "maybe I should give him a chance as a striker".  Baffling to me why he was signed knowing we never play 4-4-2 etc and from Sadlier's point of view he could theoretically have been a sub in the championship now instead of league one, with a promotion on his CV.

I've been thinking that myself. I thought we might've signed him either just before right at the time we changed formation and it's just a case of it being bad luck (for him) that it turned our fortunes around, but we signed a few good results in to that formation change.

Signed as a back up to Fossey maybe?

Sadlier left Rotherham because he did not want to play wing back and IE is using him as a back up wing back doubt he will be here come the January transfer window.

Well whatever role Kachunga’s been playing, Sadlier couldn’t have been worse and in all likelihood would have delivered more. At least when he gets the opportunity he can shoot and with both feet, unlike Kacha who shoots like a tart. Just give him a chance and if he doesn’t take it then get rid but don’t write him off before we’ve properly seen what he can do.

I'm undecided on Sheehan, compared to our other equally lightweight midfielders, but to be fair to him by around this time last season, he'd scored 3 league goals from open play.  The other 2 were away at Wimbledon and Ipswich.  What would we give for a midfielder to score in 3 different games, 2 away, in our next few games.  Sadlier is the only other midfielder with a similar record of scoring 3 or 4 in a smallish number of games, and like Sheehan most of them were away, if all other things are equal that puts them above the other midfielders in a team struggling for goalscorers.

Also haven't seem enough of Sheehan. Struck me as a luxury player who is more for set pieces and long shots.

I don't think Evatt expected Morley to do as well as he has, also Mj was very off form this time last year.

We've got Isgrove coming back too.

I'm actually a kachunga fan, he's not doing much but at the same time, we play better up top when he's on. He switches position well with Dapo causing trouble. Evatt sees something there and it might be he's just doing exactly what he's told to.

Feel the issue is nobody knows the best team atm, you could wrote down 5 different line ups amd still feel there is a better combination. Morley and Dempsey with Saddlier infront with Katchunga and Charles should in theory be a decent set up.. but then what about Dapo, Dad bod (inj) MJ, Lee etc.

Evatt surely by now has realised that Baka always has a quiet game when he starts, and that's ok.. plenty of players have done Wells the super sub.

Still reckon we can get 20 out of DC

Still don’t understand the Kachunga bashing. Game wasn’t won or lost with him in or his exclusion.

It’s like playing with 10 men.

He was decent in pre season and also against 4th division Salford.

However, he has no effect on the game whatsoever except to show for the ball and then play it back again.

Leaving Dapo, Sadlier, Williams out and playing Kachunga is simply a weird selection decision imo.

100%, makes absolutely no sense… in fact it’s completely irrational decision.
