Yep. His championship reign was awful both seasons and he licked Ken’s arse. Woeful.

Possibly playing the shittest football I have witnessed

This, for sure. Maybe the Chino days but there were reasons. Parkinson chose to play shite football.

I'm not sure why people were expecting us to play anything else considering the budget he was working with

We tried to sign a technically gifted footballer at a price we could afford the following season and he was a nonentity on the pitch

Parky - like all good managers - got a lot out of the resources he had until we were well and truly up shit creek financially

Coyle had the 12th biggest budget in the league, probably top 30 in the world abd we played some absolute shite

Dress it up how you like but if I had to Watch the OC time v parky time over again it wouldn’t be a contest. Not sure why he’s been mentioned in this but even with a promotion season I’d not pick parky time again.

I think Parky's Wrexham scored 116 goals this season

He had a squad with championship and premier league experience. Got it promoted from league one as he should. Nearly cocked it up.

Just stayed up next season which should have been better.

Yes he was working for a cunt, but it was dire stuff and he pissed players about.

I'm sure he's a decent chap but he lacked a spine in those dark days for me.

Telling that when sharon arrived, he went.

Jolly hockey-sticks.

With a squad of that calibre, he could have lay on a beach somewhere and texted the teamsheet to his staff and got promoted.

They were shite, though - look at their career trajectories

And Parky resigned, with the club accepting his and Parkin's resignations "with great reluctance" 🤷‍♂️

Went the week before the takeover was concluded I think.

Right, so the teams fails and it's on him

The teams succeeds and it's in spite of him 😂

I think he has four promotions on his CV, one of which was getting Colchester United - fucking Colchester United - out of the league we're currently in

The club was on its arse for practically his whole period and did did well

The brief eriod when he had something like the resources required he built a pretty decent outfit, the rest of the time the football was bound to be shit because we were in no position to sign good players

kyle walker off to bayern?

This thread has gone off on some right tangents.

Fixtures out this week and we're getting towards the last third of June. Time for our first new signing I think!

You must be joking , before the season started the consensus was that he would do a brilliant job just to keep us up.

No credit given whatsoever for getting us promoted from league one in the first place , I get you didn’t like him or his style of play but lacking spine ???

Arguing about parky. He's about as relevant as aunt Nina thatnid never met but left me 25 quid, in coins

If Coyle had been vaguely competent Parky would never have happened

Coyle was an utter prick

It's hardly a great accolade but Parky has been Bolton's best manager since Allardyce.Winning at West Brom on the opening day was almost as shocking as the 5-0 at Leicester given Bolton's meagre budget. One thing that team didn't lack was spine.

No argument there.

Goal minder incoming from  Chelsea.

According to " eeeevnin stadat"

Baxter comes from some exceptional pedigree, from the class of Mount Abraham, Tomori, Chalobah. If he can stamp the No.1 spot down then it could be a fantastic coup for us. The other GK coming in apparently Joel Coleman is a Bolton lad which seems like an easy move for us, I’ve seen him play once during a pre season friendly & he literally did a Dixon vs Hartlepool whilst trying to play out from the back which lead to a goal so yeah not a first great impression but if it’s as a backup then it looks like our loans will be used for outfield if those two do come in as frees.

How many keepers do we actually need? Obviously a first teamer to replace Traff but why can’t Hutch fill in at B Team level? I haven’t actually seen him play but his reviews seem to have been excellent so I don’t see the need to develop other sides kids when we’ve a good one of our own.
