Was shite and tacky even if it was the real mccoy.

I did get this from there though, so it wasn't all a load of tat...

Terrible location,  Town centre shoppers aren't going to walk that far for meat

A few ladies walk that way for meat every night.

I never went in the place, was it one of them places that does offers like 300 frozen chicken drumsticks for £2.99, and 12 Gammon Steaks for £3.99?

What was so bad about it?

Used to be Queens Cinema when it showed English films - not sure if it changed its name

It was the Queens, then they demolished it and a car sales opened up on the site.

My mother was one of those who found out this morning she didn't have a job.

Went there when it first opened. Plenty on offer but not much looked good value. Not been since. They got closed down by the hygiene people for a couple of days so that didn't exactly help.

Bad news for Mummy SJM

I'm sure the place couldn't have been that bad. It's location certainly wasn't ideal though

Will the closure affect the "Sausage or Bacon Barm" for £1 (all day, every day) deal?......as at that price, I'm sure the meat isn't of the greatest standard

Those folk interested in unlimited sausage will have to travel to Blackpool for their fix.

The older posters on here will remember on night matches , the lads used to finish their shift and turn up underneath the scoreboard still wearing butchers aprons.

True story time.

I used to work there as a contractor looking after the blast freezers.

My gaffer comes to check on me and the site.

He was very loud and opionated , Munich from Langworthy Road.

What started as a bit of banter in the boning hall got out of hand .

Lots of verbals and finger pointing.

As he walked out , a blade was chucked , OK it was about 2foot away from his head. But the guy turned a flaming horrible colour and promptly passed out.

Can't remember him ever returning to site.

Bet there's not another football forum in Christendom where that sentence has ever been uttered
