They being extremists. We're talking about preventing the supply line of extremists. Not all extremists are Muslims either. See bloke who murdered Jo Cox for example. We need to be working in all these communities, Muslim, far right, far left...anywhere that is potentially producing a minority with the tendencies to do what happened on Monday night.

Ahh, the classic Jo Cox counter argument.

Care to name anymore ?

My list is endless.

Going to log off now as this isn't the time nor place for it.

Take care young man.

The overwhelming majority are Muslims lets not beat about the bush, we keep appeasing we will continue to reap what we sow. Government must make tough decisions ones which will help protect our citizens. Do you think extreme Muslims inside U.K. communities will work with the local community worker? Will they bollocks, even moderate Muslims are scared to say anything within the community for fear of reprisals. Root and branch removal when these cells are found to be planning attacks, recruiting or helping terrorists, that is the answer.

How can eduction stop the next 22 year old jihadi extremist making a nail bomb and blowing up a shopping centre? Seriously how?

This problem is here and now. They are already entrenched in their beliefs. No amount conversation and eduction between faiths will stop this.

The root of their beliefs isn't the problem, us being under attack and our children in fear is.

I'm as passive and as liberal as any fucker, but we can't carry on pretending (which I have) that it's going to get better.

This isn't about the Muslim faith, it's about armed extremists threatening our society. It needs to be fought like a war not an integration exercise.

Fuck me they will be chomping at the bit to take another shot.

The deporting them....if they are born in Kent where do we deport them too.

Sorry just sick of reading the deporting comments. We have been attacked by mainly home grown mentalists.....deportation isn't an option.

I don't know what can be done tho

How can anything stop that? The hard truth is you cannot stop a determined suicide bomber..other than intercepting before it gets to that stage. You can do that in two ways. One intelligence and preventing him from doing it. Two, stopping the radicalisation of young men. I'd say we do both.

You cannot fight a war, these people aren't there. They aren't open. They're hidden. Not always even in this country. There isn't a war to fight.

We can either pretend that a traditional military response, something we've tried for best part of two decades will work...despite the fact it has unquestionably made things worse. Or face up to it that we cannot do more than try and prevent these attacks using the best intelligence possible, whilst longer term working to reduce the number of nutters converted by radical elements.

Absolutely nothing else makes any sense.

Thankfully we nearly agree except it is about the Muslim faith and how it is interpreted by some sections of Islam. Lets face the facts, it is not racist to say this even though I can see you seem to be uncomfortable in saying it.

It isn't a counter argument. It is a fact. There are plenty of non-Muslim terrorists through history. And recent history. Google it.

The 'war' isn't with Muslims. It is with extremists of all types. And we have tried bombing, killing and force to stem the tide, and it hasn't worked. The cycle must be broken somehow. I will never accept any argument that seeks to divide people as again that will, and history shows this time and time again, only make things much, much worse.

Internment for home grown extremists known to the security forces. Deportation for those not home grown.

Links emerging now showing Salman Abedi's father was part of an Al Qaeda affiliated group (LIFG) in Libya, and turfed out by Gaddafi.

He's now back in Syria, quell surprise....

This guy was described as being "somewhat known". What does that mean? I suspect seen as little or no risk is what it means. If known at all. Unlikely to admit that our intelligence service have no clue who he is as that would be counter-productive even if it is the truth.

I have not said that rounding folk up is the way forward that was Gonzo. What I have said is folk who have been proven to be helping terrorists or promoting terrorism that we should have the ultimate sanction of the death penalty, the only response isn't to go on as normal we need to fuck that warped thought process off right now because that's not worked these folk do not want to unite and never will,  Government have a decision to make in protecting their citizens from terrorists and they should seriously consider the death penalty, I would go further and say any folk who have fought with Isis should be locked up immediately.

There should be no question about this - they have waged war against us/civilisation - they should be locked up immediately

This guy has been to Syria and back according to press. I'd start right there. Ban all domestic flights to there for starters.

They'd just go via somewhere else if they're that bothered
