I know she purports to be a 'journalist' - you mentioned it was a pity she wasn't in politics so I pointed out there are shitloads of politicians of her ilk; Nick Griffin, Pauline Hanson...

I've used quotes around journalist in her case as most proper journalists check and provide validation for the facts and figures they use.

You should really read up on the backgrounds of these people before praising them. She's as much credibility as Windy Miller.

I praised the speech you numpty. Don't know her cup size yet so can't comment.

Have another spiced rum and chill out.

Got sent this.

An interesting speech.

She drops in a made up % at the start and based her numbers on that. https://m.csmonitor.com/World/Security-Watch/terrorism-security/2015/0113/How-many-Muslim-extremists-are-there-Just-the-facts-please

The fact is no one knows that number and the rest of the speech is about building fear based on the size of the problem.

Not saying 1% or under is right but I am sure 25% is total fucking bollocks.

Spiced rum is a woman's drink! I'll wager that rum isn't from William Teach's 300 year old personal stash, I'll wager it hasn't been spiced wi gunpowder and laudanum and it isn't served in a jagd broken flowerpot...

Aye, real men drink Windolene.

I forgot, drinking women drink - gin, prosecco, spiced spirits etc. is perfectly acceptable for a man these days as long as one sports a tidy, dyed, trimmed and oiled beard.

I thought that seemed high and am always skeptical of such stats - I mean how do you accurately measure that?

That said, the point she makes about the peaceful majority being irrelevant still stands.  Whether there's  .001% or 100%, try telling the parents of those killed in Manchester, or anywhere, that the threat is smaller than people think . . .

Listening to ex-service folk who've served in the region the consensus seems to be that most folk would happily do away with westerners; again though, I would imagine that their perception is 'skewed', shall we say, and hardly going to be full of love and appreciation from the locals.

Put it this way, I wont be going to a Muslim majority country in the middle east for my hols any time soon.

Aye, real men drink Windolene Scotch.

It's science ;)

Aye, the stats are open to debate, no question, but for once the point being made was a good one.

Loathed to put it in here but didn’t want to start a new thread, seeing on evening news & twitter they believe a child has been abducted from a bonfire at Heaton Park, what on earth?

The police said they are following up reports of a child abduction but have received no reports of a missing child.

What is it? Don't think that's the right link

Couldn't find owt in that link but if it's the one we just had screened down here it was about a bunch of nutters in Freital, Germany 'welcoming' some of Merkels holiday guests. Ringleaders all banged up for years now.

What's this show called? I can watch it now through Kodi.

Missed the start, but it was quite thought-provoking that...

Although I did spend an inordinate amount of time wondering if the presenter was a cocoa-shunter - with the hooped earring and everything.

Cheers, I'll give it a watch on catch up. Would be interesting to hear someone with a bit of intellect attempt to explain their beliefs for a change rather than the knuckle dragging meatheads Louis Theroux met.

As soon as you see swastika flags and SS regalia etc.you may as well switch off the TV.

Watched it. Thought it was pants.

Louis Theroux did an infinitely better job of exposing the madness than he did. The concept of a black man having the bollocks to confront some of these people was intriguing but turned out to be a damp squib IMO. Sadly, his clearly strong left wing leanings as evidenced by the insertion of Crooked Hillary clips etc. weakened his impact as far as I was concerned.

This was a far more hard hitting watch and cause for worry.

Took my missus to the arena last night for the first time since the bombing... she was nearly sick. The fear and anxiety in her face was so upsetting, she couldn't relax until the train was half way through Salford. Its these battles we need to win; our way of life is becoming shrouded by fear.

Well put.

I know the natural reaction was one of defiance after the bomb, but it must get into peoples' psyche.

Summat at Oxford circus tube station is breaking news on the BBC. Nowt reported yet other than people running away.

Shooting.

Shooting.

Watching Sky News now, and they're saying that somebody has reported shots being fired. Although there are no casualties and nobody seems to be overly fussed, looking at the Sky footage.

My daughter just sent a text saying that she is in lockdown at her offices on Regent St with members of the public taking shelter there. She saw all the commotion just after the incident but she is safe thankfully
