Who Was 'super'ior

Super John or Super Kev?

2 great Bolton players, but who was better? both achieved so much with us and if you could have one back who would choose?

Do you reckon peak MnGinlay would have fitted in the with glory days or Sam and vice versa with Davies in the 90's?

Loved them both and I think they would have made a "super" combination.

Sadly I think SJM was past his best when we got into the premier league so difficult to say.

I never rated Davies' finishing so will go for SJM.

Never saw a tougher player though than SKD.

If the question is who was the better player overall, there is only one answer. Only need to look through their respective playing careers.

If the question is who was more important for BWFC, then flip a coin. Though probably McGinlay was very hard to replace whereas I imagine we would have found another Kevin Davies type eventually.

If you could mix Davies' aggression and aerial prowess with Supa's finishing then you'd have a £50m striker on your hands. We'd sell him for £2m and add-ons.

Loved SKD but would have to go for SJM.

The game is about goals. SJM was about goals.

Give it a fucking rest you crank!!

For me it has to be SJM. With him in the team I always thought he'd grab a goal.

Different times and leagues I know, but i fucking loved SJM.

You'd have Alan Shearer or pretty close to it

Give it a fucking rest you crank!!

Was just thinking that myself.

What's the point in following us? Every post is some thinly veiled swipe at the Club. Boring as fuckery.

Not bad at all

Barely old enough to remember SJM but fr the footage I've seen and the stories I've heard SJM edges it just

SKD led us through greater times though I may have enjoyed the Mcginlay era a bit more

As Bolty said, it's about goals so would probably go with mcginlay, just

Both great servants....SJM all day long for me though, he was our talisman in his pomp & one of us off the pitch. As much as I loved what SKD did for us he could never have given us the pleasure & excitement that SJM did.

Good question Dids and one I can't answer, so I'll sit on the fence and go Anelka. :)

Only saw one play so SKD for me. When he went full pelt into sliding tackles it gave me a bit of an hard on.

McGinlay for me. Felt he was always second fiddle to Andy Walker who was better imo but he really stepped up his game after Walker's injury and became a very good player. Oh and the Wolves game will always swing any vote.....

Different times and different places. SJM was vital in getting us up to the prem, SKD was vital in keeping us there.

Really enjoyed watching both but as SJM played in my favourite era of watching Bolton, he nicks it. Just.

Two of my favourite players ever.

Both gave 100% every time they stepped on the pitch.

It's a draw.

SJM celebrating by playing the belly bongos to the away fans at Burnden after they'd been calling him a fat bastard wins it for him in my eyes.

If the story about SKD and Evra was true then he'd win

My brain can't compute the question.

SJM was my childhood hero.

SKD was my adult hero.

SJM instilled a belief in the team and supporters that no matter what, he was going to score. That allowed us to keep pushing and we simply never said die.

SKD summed up everything we were about. Hard as a coffin nail and a decent footballer too. We battered teams up and down the country and shocked every fucker. He was fookin unplayable for a time.

Draw.

Super John for me terrace hero

McGinlay for me. Felt he was always second fiddle to Andy Walker who was better imo but he really stepped up his game after Walker's injury and became a very good player. Oh and the Wolves game will always swing any vote.....

I think you make a great point there. Sjm with walker was a fantastic partnership, and one in which if anything, sjm played the 'target man' role, albeit loosely.

Later he became the main goalscorer, so in a sense could do everything you want a striker to do.

Would never have skd down as an out and out goal machine though.

SKD

Draw. I've no need to compare them
