I grew up in a council house in Tonge Moor after escaping a rat infested flat in Kay Street. You can have that fucking plate any time you want it.

"But you try and tell the young people today that... and they won't believe you" :)

As I think we're about to find out.

Where do the EU stand on letting us back in, once we realise we're incapable of managing on our own?

Fuck me gently. As pointed out before, your monicker on here is most apt.

I'll pass, thank you.  That's a bit unfair too.  We don't all possess the spontaneity of wit and originality that you obviously do when you came up with your username 😉

I'd be interested to know though what on earth you see in the current lot, or the opposition to be fair, that makes you think they can make a success of Brexit

I would contend that that is a preposterous proposition. More than 'able to manage' on our own and we will prove it as we always have before and will do so again.

Mock you might but it is absolutely true.

I'm not mocking - it was a Monty Python reference :)

I come from similar stock myself. Gilbert St was condemned then lived on various council estates until I was about 10.

Dear me.

I'm quite sure the EU would welcome us back. After all they'd quite like the money.

Moreover once it's gone to ratshit they will have a migrant wave of Britons looking for a better life, rubber dinghies everywhere.

They'll be begging us to come back.

Fascinating little interview with a chap from palace capital on sky news.

Apparently, the north of England is very much opposite to the national trend, doing well. He put it down to a better attitude in the north, but overall, companies waiting to invest. Described a wall of investment waiting, and suggested they were waiting for a blue outcome on Thursday.

I'd imagine there is. There's no doubt loads of companies been hedging their bets for quite some time. Let's just hope they're not all going to be piling on the promise of cheap taxes and workers rights getting screwed!

We'll see! Workers rights won't be adversely affected. Like the NHS, a suicidal move.

Was very interesting to here about the north being far more positive and proactive, though in fairness it was within his industry. Far more commercial lettings etc up here.

I wish you lot would get with the programme and stop posting all this positive stuff.

We are going to hell in a hand cart and are incapable of managing on our own. So speaketh more than one duck egg in this thread.

You need a course in despondency and/or self harm if you really want to become part of the doom mongers army.

Today, the sky is quite blue, low winter sunshine, and the yellowish 'lancaster' light (always seemed to have a lovely glow up there) caressing the land. A fresh, chill breeze from the South.

Lovely out.

A little over 24 hours until the blockage is flushed away (fingers crossed) and positivity can flow again.

What's not to like!

Sounds idyllic. Any sort of majority and I will be a happy man. If he doesn't get a majority for the first time ever I will be glad I left. Utter carnage and devastation if the Marxist and Sturgeon somehow got to a point where they are running the show.

Like a furnace here again so definitely not lovely out!

Drama Queen!!

I'd not want it, but to imply it'll be utter carnage is stretching it a bit. Do you think we'll become a third world country?

Drama queen my arse. You don't remember rat infested rubbish piled up on the streets; Christmas by candlelight; strike after strike when the Unions were running the country. I almost wish it would happen again for folk like you but its the collateral damage which the 'nasty party' would have to come in and clean up again which bothers me.

Renationalised energy sector etc. More union powers.

Give us 20% or we're out!

Corbyn will soon get his 4 day week. Or perhaps 3...

There are some really top, rational, people on here who will vote that way.
