If he's fined and then resigns, it really makes Johnson look even worse than he already looks. It would be, as pointed out by Esco, an absolute masterstroke for the Labour party

Even Bojo won't promote the CC of Durham Constabulary to the top of the Met, but he might find a larger force such as WMids, GMP or Police Scotland to give her pole position in the future.

Absolutely. Daft sod.

He doth protest too much.

And as for integrity- at least Boris refused to discuss his situation whilst the investigation was ongoing. Straight bat, as it should be.

Not only is KS still making political capital out of it, more importantly how do his comments affect those conducting the investigation? Undue pressure knowing your work could result in a very senior politician leaving his job? Let alone any subsequent revelation of the identity of such officers.

As a lawyer, he should know better, and keep quiet until afterwards- fpn or not.

There will be officers in Northumberland police unhappy about it for sure.

I don’t think we can chuck any questionmarks about regarding starmers integrity that’s for sure. All he’s said he he’s happy to be investigated but sure they will find nothing at all untoward.

He seems very very certain to me.

and let’s be honest it’s not like he’s stabbed someone or pumped Diane abbot against her will or owt. He’s had a beer and a curry potentially against the laws at the time. I’m not buying he’s trying to influence the police mate

I don't think he is doing deliberately- however it's a very real possibility now he's spoken. As a lawyer, I'd expect him to be aware of this.

His integrity would still be illustrated if he spoke in such a way after the result of any investigation. It would have the same political effect, but without adding pressure.

He could have toughed it out had he not banged on about it so much, as despite a lot of media clips of offended people, I reckon many don't really give that much of a toss if either fella had a drink or a slice of cake.

How old are you?

Pathetic piece of human scum.

I'd also add it is typical. Every time abuse after abuse. No rational response whatsoever.

Blimey. That's quite a take on it.

The best bit, Boris and integrity in the same sentence 😃

He's basically chopped the Daily Mail's legs off and made Johnson look even more of a twat, especially if as expected he gets fined again.

Smart move.

It actually made my head hurt and pinch the top bit of my nose.

As I say

If Johnson wasn’t such a liability, the Tories wouldn’t have to spend half their working lives defending him.

But he has a hold on them for now so they have to slavishly drag their arses in front of the press every other day to say the same old shit. They must want a change of scenery by now.

The Tories can and should do much better than him.

Imagine what Maggie Thatcher would make of him :D

Well he introduced the Freedom Pass when he was 9 years old - 6 years before Thatcher became Prime Minister! I'm sure she was amazed by him.

Starmer,  found guilty and quits..

Boris still wouldn't give a shit, he'd simply be like "good for him".

KS knows labour gave no chance of winning an election with him at the helm so if he falls on his sword now, he might just take Boris with him..

Who replaces him though?

If he gets a fpn, the chances are that Rayner also does. In which case she has reportedly also said she'd resign.

If starmer had brought more policy into the debate, where there is plenty of scope for difference, then he could well have had the top job next time round.

So far the immigration situation hasn't been improved, with numbers still high, so there is one example straight away. It would perhaps necessitate an appreciation of the views of traditional Labour voters, but opportunity is there.

Frost saying tonight that the government have to act on the protocol as it’s not acceptable and the EU not going to show flexibility and agree to amendments. Might as well get on with it.

Do you really not understand how mental that is? Frost NEGOTIATED the fucking protocol. You Brexiters are totally fucking mad.

Sums it all up pretty well.

It’s all about the headlines on the newsstands

beyond that, it’s just too complex

Sometimes even headlines that are YEARS old! 😂

If they guy who was head of CPS and knows every detail of the case is prepared to bet his political future on the outcome you have to think he is certain of the outcome. If he loses he probably deserves to be fucked off.

There is no down side on this for Labour.   He loses , resigns, at last some integrity.

He wins , he is proved right and had displayed integrity.

Arguably KS has put party ahead of self something Boris would never think about.

I just don't get the comparison and how things have played out.

But that's politics for you and add in the huge efforts of right wing media then we get to this point.
