I imagine it’s similar to fire brigade. Good officers get promoted because they deserve it. Shit officers get promoted because their own higher ranks want to get rid of them and it’s easier to promote them out of the way than getting rid any other way.

There were gangs of Russians bullying small groups of anybody (English, French) there were 8 of us sat round a table on the main drag covered in tear gas and not one Russian came near us. We had earlier been in the middle of the PSG V Marseille battle and the PSG fans were ditching their knives under our table, cheeky cunts

The thing this folk that that always shoot back with the Labour haven't ever had a female leader - and indeed that is true and it's something that surely will be rectified, what they forget is that the last 30 years of the tories has been shaped by Thatcher. The party is still in awe of her and its followers are always looking for a reincarnation, in many ways its regressive, not progressive.

What this also forgets is that in 75 Thatcher was elected leader to the backdrop of massive backbench discontent in lkosing the election and the fact that if Willie Whitelaw had stood at the first ballot instead of pledging to Heath, Thatcher might not have made it through.

Anyway, whatever it is, the gashing of teeth at strong, female MPs who have the termerity to say to these men that they might be wrong with terms like, 'revolting', 'slag', 'bitch' show them up for what they really are.

Sadly, many folk are a bit simple and don't see that sort of thing - I had a very same conversation with a colleague of mine, who told me he was chuffed that Diesel had gone down to about £1.65 at his local garage, which is probably 30p a litre more than he was paying less than a year ago.....

For what it's worth, I'd be happy for it to go to £2 a litre for both Petrol and Diesel, in order to get more cars off the road, and make my travelling around a little bit easier 😉
