Can’t be held to account in the commons. He’ll be off round the world telling people how great democracy is. He can get to fuck frankly. Quote
frank_spencer Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Looking back on Cameron with rose tinted specs is the same as the Yanks longing for a 'sensible Republican' like Dubya Bush. Says more about the car crash that's currently right wing politics than a positive for Cameron or Bush. Quote
Nowack Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 I think the fact that you cannot find a suitable candidate out of 360 MPs is a bit damming really. Quote

Someone out of the (tory) blue doesn't have time to elevate themselves between now and the election into the public conciousness. This is bringing back a well known character to boost flagging ratings. Dirty Dave as it were... Quote

This cabinet is so bad, it's crying out for some level of competence, experience and yes, normality. You could chuck May in as well, although it's too little too late. It's akin to Doenitz getting the top job in May 1945. This is just the death rattle of a dying, despicable government. Quote

Sweep Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 She's got what she wanted, she's been sacked. It'll now leave her clear to distance herself from the landslide at the GE - she'll then make a play for the leadership - it'll be between her and Badenoch. I'm not sure if Braverman will have a much support as she wants amongst the MPs, but I she'll probably appeal the to membership I did think she'd stay in the job until at least Wednesday though, as that's when this ridiculous Rwanda "project" finally gets kicked into touch. As a side note, Cleverly becomes the 5th Home Secretary in 14 months (although Braverman has held the position twice in that time) - that's some churn, for what you would hope would be a fairly stable position. I guess it had to happen before then. Basically her carefully tailered lets hope London goes up in a mass brawl didn't work out and now the Rwanda project is going to fade from view. You know the end scene from I.D.....? Quote
Spider Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Chris Green overlooked for a ministerial role again. Imagine voting for a bloke who just stands outside his office and points at lamp posts Quote

Sweep Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Just a thought, do you reckon Braverman would have the audacity to attempt a leadership challenge this side of a GE? Quote
Spider Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Make the shiny cunt go into the commons and answer questions. Its not like he’ll spontaneously combust if he has to sit on a green bench. No doubt cap-doffing Tory nonce types will be jizzing all over their Boris posters at this though, Quote
