I do see Twitter and based on that it’s just a bunch of conspiracy theorists, anti-vaxxers and assorted mental cases that were gunning for Starmer from day one. Reform and Tory voters are bleating the loudest. Those great defenders of democracy and free speech are suddenly outraged and offended by everything they see. Its beautiful Quote

I read various papers, left and right. Most of my links are from the Guardian. You should read it sometime. Remember, 2/3 of voters didn’t vote Labour. Don’t get so touchy when people criticise them. It’s a politics thread. There will be lots more to come. Quote

After seeing Tory MP’s bumble and clatter their way through such interviews for over a decade, Reeves was statesmanlike by comparison. Im sorry your team didn’t win. But look on the bright side, you’ve got 5 long years to foam at the mouth from the terraces now. Its still all Labours fault, they’re just on the other side of the chamber now. Labour will make mistakes, all parties do. But they’re not shitting directly into our pockets and laughing like the last lot did. Quote

She’ll probably be the last. Quote

They’ve a long way to go yet before they start to even lace the boots of the previous mob. Fuel prices are low again. 😍 Quote

The good news, is it they're shit, then we can get rid in five years time. They've still got an awful long way to go to be as bad as the last lot I reckon Only a matter of time. The penny always drops eventually. They've not even started the real loony left stuff yet. It will come. Quote

How long before she is forced to reverse the winter fuel allowance gaffe or, at the very least make a gesture of compensation which will, in the overall scheme of things, negate what she was trying to achieve in the first place? The robotic, cold charade will crack eventually. The oestrogen will see to that. A weepy blubbering mess will come. Even the imperious and matchless Maggie cracked but kept it under to the day she was getting into the car when leaving no. 10 for the very last time. Still over 3 months to Q1 2025. I think I gave them too much credit in suggesting that this would be when their non 'my party' type supporters on here become erstwhile supporters. Could be well before that the way they are going. I doubt any government has had such a large majority for such a small vote share though. My point is that the criticism of this government has come from all quarters, much of it from within its own party. Quote

Then you can vote for a candidate who doesn't know who the PM is again😀 Quote

Owen Jones left his support of the Labour party even before the last election, and the protestor was really good for Reeves, shows that the Labour Party has moved on from being content to shout from the fringes of the left wing of the party, but now are are a pragmatic social democratic party of government. Debate the issues, but it is no longer a party in hock to fringe movements, unlike a ceratin other previous government.... What your links show, is how far the party has moved into being a party and government that works for the people of Britain. Many thanks. Quote
Not in Crawley Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 I mean he can put a glass eye to sleep as a orator, but this is a good speech from Starmer - its like a breath of fresh air for serious, clear headed government tackling a range of policy issues rather than just wanging on about Europe and Immigration with three word soundbites. Not in Crawley Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 This Lake Distict riff, its a very nice part for those one-nationers regarding history and heritage, this music part about his first trip abroad - rather than having holiday's abroad as a given and the aspiration for those from working class backgrounds to enjoy music, arts, travel, breaking through backgrounds - nice touches from the speechwriters here.
