😅 Whoosh!

Anyway, I never said where it was. Crawley won’t be happy with you now.

No whoosh here. I got the joke.

I just think we all look at our immediate surroundings and extrapolate that to the rest of the UK.

aye

there's been a big influx of migrants round my way the last few years

chinese

all fleeing hong kong

though they're all loaded and snapping up houses, often without viewing them, for cash

every time I go to the shops or the park or out in my car locally, guaranteed to see some, and that was not the case 5 years ago

so I guess buddishm is spreading round my way, or covid, or something

there's also a belting new chinese takeaway

To be fair - Buddhism and Chinese restaurant and happy to be spread far and wide! 😁

The Hong Kong dudes (some) have special rights to settle here. After China broke the agreement, we were always getting a load.

Isn't the same culture clash with them, as with many others.

Assisted Dying Bill passed to the HoL, 314-291.

Could well spend time bouncing back of forth yet, with it being so close.

Far too simplistic that.

Additionally, Brierfield has/had a sign on it detailing some sort of educational/religious type place.

Too simplistic?

Please enlighten me then - tell me what I'm missing.

I wasn't very impressed with Kim Leadbeater during the debates and the committee phase but I thought the bill would be passed

It feels a big moment, and if it does become law, like a threshold has been crossed

I remember there being a good few pubs on Daubhill when I was growing up. I don’t think there’s a one now as the “spread” has got bigger.

Probably the main issue but there are other ones too for the pub game.

Look at Bromley Cross - Dunscar Arms and Volunteer both gone and not a Burka in sight.

yep, when I first moved to the village I live in now, around 20 years ago, we had 5 pubs, and now only 2.....and we don't allow any brown people to live here (other than the family who run the post office, obvs)

nobody really gets furious about these things, unless they're doing it for affect, it's just all a bit "meh"

Anyway, maybe it's a town full of incredibly hirsute taffs, and there is a requirement for that many barbers

That very much depends on where you live. It's absolutely true if you live in Halliwell, for example. Particularly if you're in the part of Halliwell past the Crofters. Or in Astley Bridge, past Asda. Or in many other (usually less affluent parts) of Bolton.

Probably less so if you're swimming in the sea in Kent! 😁

Yes but that's my exact point, they are uber obsessed with the taking over of the area and immigration round here and there isn't any huge pockets of diversity. It's the fear rather than the reality that is being stoked up.

And yes I am going for another swim this evening and will probably post another irritating Facebook post 😁

Probably locals who are seeing criminals setting up fronts for their illegal dealings.

Have you asked AI to add a bunch of brown people to this photo?

That's very funny as that walkway is just full if gay blokes with tiny dogs from London every weekend in the summer.

Those in the know swim at Tankerton.

Kent's the most racist part of the country that I've ever been to though to be fair. And you're right - you hardly ever see anybody who isn't white (unless they're on a school trip).

Tax dodge innit. Like all of the UK tradies definitely don't do! 😉😁
