The Labour Party seem incapable of putting together a good 3 or 4 weeks of results. Last week think Starmer did well on a world stage, but by the weekend here they are pissing on their own back garden again.

I must be in a minority of 1, a lot of people talk about how good Burnham is, I can't stand the bloke, I'm not even sure why, I just really don't like him at all, he just always seems thoroughly insincere.

I'm not, for the record, a massive fan of Starmer either

he always looks like he's had a makeover, like dyed his hair, or done his eyebrows, or is wearing make up

like a camp version of joey barton

Im no Burnham fan and actually think Starmer has done very well in handling this and nipping it in the bud.

You're not.

Says and done some good things, but for me he's the Prince of Platitude.

His comments recently about wanting rid of the market led approach were somewhat concerning: would like more detail, but on the face of it, he was saying keep spending and hang the consequences.

You're right.

As I said previously, it is a lose-lose situation for him, so why not make the decision that shows a bitnof strength.

In the long run, it may not be enough, but he's on a sticky wicket anyway.

Me neither…. In fact can count on one hand politicians I’d trust…. Throw Nigel in that group as well.

Cruella going to Reform

I'm surprised it's taken her this long, I thought she would have gone across well before now. She's a deeply unpleasant individual, in my opinion, but she's perfect for Reform. I'd not be overly shocked if Priti Patel was the next to defect.

The Conservatives who have gone across the floor, I don't think make it any more likely that Reform would win a GE, but they do make it less likely that the Conservatives will.

Farage is going to have to be careful soon about how many of them he takes, as I have no doubt there will be more wanting to defect (in the interest of self preservation)

There is, according to Mr Farage, a "big name" from Labour defecting this week as well, so it'll be interesting to see who that is, if he can get a few Labour moving across, then it really does put the cat amongst the penguins

Can’t believe all these defections are in the best interest of Reform tbh.

I’ve nearly always voted Tory historically, until Labour at the last GE…… if anything though I’m more likely to vote Tory again given some of the “characters” who are now leaving.

Does look like its becoming a retirement home for the Tory's absolute cunts.

I wonder if that fat bag of custard, Johnson, would consider it? - I have a vision of him taking over from Farage at some point

no chance, he'd look a massive dick if he did, as th ereaosn he said he wanted to stand, was to stop "populists" winning the seat.

I assume, as a man of conviction though, he'll resign as Mayor, and run in the by-election as an independent...........

Haha.

Social media again- stay off it. 😀

It is pretty clear that both Braverman and Jenrick were restricted by respective PMs and civil servants in their time in government, nevertheless at some point they both should have shown a bit of backbone at the time, and called it out/resigned to make their point.

What a load of mush it's all becoming.

A bit of warmer weather please- can go fishing and leave them all to it for a while.

There’s alway a tweet IMG_6157.thumb.jpeg.2b06d4a08ebce600449b0b96d701c07f.jpeg

indeed, and probably one from Cruella, somewhere slagging off Farage  - it seems anything historical doesn't matter anymore (unless it's 50 years ago, in a playground)

Much of it is just posturing at the time anyway- it doesn't necessarily reflect true feelings and is just party on party warfare in the 21st century.

Type first, think later.

There is also a video showing Starmer doing his republic bit, and being critical.of the monarchy.

Be careful what you do and say.

Bit like society, and not necessarily for the better.

They wouldn't have him (except Nadine Dorries)

I've not been on this thread in some time for the betterment of my mental health, but I had to just drop in and ask.

No well rounded and informed individual could possibly still be thinking of voting for Reform at this point? It's a retread of the worst government this country has ever seen, except now has a man at the helm who has failed to be elected as an MP 7 times before the last election.

There are some Reformative backers on here who’d vote for them if they said they were making the exhumed carcass of Goerring the Foreign Secretary.
