Kane57 Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 I really don't get this hope about Ameobi - he's never ever done anything at this level and was hot and cold for us last season. Think it's a stretch to expect him to save our season. Quote
Zico Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 It's because he created and scored and was an attacking threat It's an area we're struggling with Be surprised if he returned and we got worse Quote
Kane57 Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Oh yeah I know exactly what he did, but it's a step up for him as well. Suppose hope is all we have left. Quote
radcliffe white Posted September 24, 2017 Author Posted September 24, 2017 No.We need far more to be able to compete. The squad is not strong enough but I think if we had 2 strong players in midfield able to impose themselves on the game we can stay up. We are asking an attacking midfielder-Karacan and a young boy on work experience-Cullen to protect a back 4. This is not PP's choosing it is the situation we are in financially because as has been posted previously the likes of Burton,Barnsley & Millwall are in a far better position to attract players.yes and no for me mate Financial side of things yes but he still signed 4 wingers now you telling me his scouts couldn't find a couple of freebies for the middle? Obviously no world beaters but tacklers Quote

radcliffe white Posted September 24, 2017 Author Posted September 24, 2017 I think we all knew what we get out of wheater tbf Beevers massive disappointment Quote
Casino Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Many times last season we weren't the better footballers in games, but we were able to stay in games then score from set pieces I've not spent any time on this but perception is we didn't create very many chances This season, the better players we come up against mean the opposition take more of their chances Causing us to have to get back into games, leaving us more open I reckon if we all picked our team before Leeds it would be massively different today and I also think we would all include vela and ameobi Mainly cos they've not had chance to prove they're not up to it Quote
Kane57 Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Ha! Yeah everyone, give them a chance to let us down! Quote
jules_darby Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 (edited) Think we know Ken doesn't want to spend money that he can't get back, so I still can't see him paying anyone off.I probably kinda agree that he won't However, the logic isn't necessarily sound; pay him off, we stay up *, his shares are worth more * and I know there's no guarantee of that but my point is he can get his ££ back Edited September 24, 2017 by jules_darby Quote
Kane57 Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 It's a gamble either way isn't it - suppose it depends how close he is / isn't to selling the club. Obviously worth more in the Champo.... Quote

As a business man I'm sure his arse is starting to twitch.I don't know how much PP earns, though I'd hazard a guess something akin to some of the players. The wage restriction which PP has admitted caused a headache, perhaps means that some money may have been saved from what the club could have paid. Its only a rough guess, but I reckon he could be put on gardening leave, and not cost the club a fortune. He is on a rolling one year contract too, so it wouldn't last too long. I don't think Parky is a hindrance to staying up, personally. I think there are some better managers around, but would they even look twice at us? The problem is the players we have, through the spine of the team, from keeper to centre forward are probably all struggling at this level. The likes of Noone, Ameobi Little - they are fine for the championship. But the spine of our team, the most critical part is very, very sup-par. And the only way that can be fixed is spending money in January. Serious money. And by then I think its way too late. You can blame Parky for the weak spine, but I think we also have to take into account the fact he was severely hamstrung in the market. Quote

Rizlar Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 I don't think another manager could save us these players are poor and remind me of Lennons squad the last time we got relegated go 1 down they give up. Quote
Guest Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 the only person struggling at this level is parkinson Can revisit this if and when he goes. And a new bloke is there. What if we're not winning still. Who will you blame then? Quote
Ani Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 the only person struggling at this level is parkinson So you think every player in the team is Championship standard and no one is struggling ? I am struggling for player who is not struggling if I am honest. Quote
famouswanderer Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Think Madine looks like our only championship standard player at the moment! Quote

Ani Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 i dont think they give up they run out of ideas im more convinced than ever it needs to be 451 and rely on free kicks I have been saying 451 since about half way through last season. First thing stop letting in over 2 goals a game. If that means being boring and negative so be it. The strange is people criticise Parky for his negative style but we need to be more defensive. Quote
Kane57 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Think Madine looks like our only championship standard player at the moment! Even he can't win the headers and then be the one running onto them. For all his improvement the lad couldn't finish his tea. Quote
