birch-chorley
TripAdvisor is your friend.Difficult to navigate for a posh lunch You'll find the top rated places on TA will be random cafe's and takeaways The more expensive places tend to attract a more critical customer, even though everything's great they might only rate it 4 out of 5 and as such really good restaurants can come a fair way down the standings Don't get me wrong I use TA all the time, it's a great app, just a bit misleading when your after a more expensive meal Edit if it's good food your after the I tend to use the Michelin Guide - no places have stars in Manchester but you will still get a few 'good places to eat' -I found a cracking pub in Mawdsley (Eagle & Child) out of the guide Edited October 7, 2017 by birch-chorley

jules_darby
Manchester HouseAs above You sadly can't have a long boozy lunch as it shuts 2/2:30pm til tea time Could always go there for lunch and then on to one of that many bars/pubs nearby for drinks Actually Diver thinking about that area, have you thought of Randall and Aubin on Bridge St? It's Brasserie style and perfect for boozy lunches. Very fish orientated. I really like it

Near the original Salvi's on JD St there's a top little tiny iti take away / cafe that do really good pasta / pizza at lunchtime. Think it may also be them?
