  • Different worlds and very different atmospheres as I suspect you know. Having been on that train back from Preston and also going to union games I certainly do.

Just been watching old video from road runner videos with Dave higson. We played Preston week after getting beat by Munich when Hughes scored. Away end at deepdale crampacked. They opened up a side te

I'll be at Cheltenham.

Friday after work. Don't know if I can be arsed pissing about.

I was working round there today and came across that pub ferny got us in on New Year's Day.

How the fuck it's still going is beyond me. It's like Mecca round there.

I was looking forward to this as its a long time since I went to PNE but as it's our annual Staff Awards night so I'm out.

still undecided where is every one meeting/boozing

cause I will probably be On My Own

As long as you manage to sneak past the line of dibble on the train station ...still one of my favourite youtube vids!! ????

Lost two more players (defenders) to long term injuries tonight whilst losing to Villa, no win in 5 games

If last night was anything to go by, they looked awful.

Mates a PNE fan and was saying they were struggling for a fit centre back even before the game

Music to my ears. Still not looking forward to it though.

Although they are performing poorly recently, any form goes straight out the window when it comes to derby matches.

Geography aside, I wouldn't even class this as a derby to be fair.

You can't post comments like that without providing evidence, you've been on here long enough to know the rules

That's got me scratching my swede- if it wasn't for geography it wouldn't be a derby would it?

Lostock was alluding to the fact that tensions maybe high and form goes out of the window due to normally high intensity of a your traditional 'Derby' match, with passions riding high. Burnley/Blackburn style.

This is just two local teams playing that don't give a fuck about each other.

Is that because we've just not played each other much recently?

Remember watching us stuff them on their plastic pitch. Away end proper rammed. Cracking atmosphere.

In all fairness Blackburn and utd are my top derbies, but still enjoy trying to get one over on them.

I was excited by the prospect of playing them again a couple of seasons ago especially by the Saturday night away fixture, but had no real dislike for them...

Until their utter delight at adding another nail into the relegation coffin with a win at ours later that season. Fuck em.

Aye. Never been mithered with Preston but we had always had it our own way against them going back to 93 and maybe before. Didn't enjoy that defeat against them. Still on the day ill hate them day after meh

It’s £2 for an under 11’s ticket.

Cheap gig for you

How things have changed then. This used to be one we looked on the fixture list for as soon as it came out. I can remember utter carnage at their place both in the 'bouncy end' and also on their Kop for Roger Hunts debut.

Preston nick was a busy place when Bolton were in town!

Suppose its a bit like the Tranmere hatred; for a while we played each other regularly, and there was bitter rivalry.

Now they're a non league club, and younger fans would probably cock a snook at them; " Tranmere, who..."

Leader of the cuckoo boys mid life crisis division has just told me we've sold half our allocation according to the ticket office.

you will need to be more specific

I remember when leaflets were handed out in Bolton telling everyone to go to preston too kick it off with their lads. I think the game was postponed but loads turned out anyway

The game there in 85 was tasty to say the least.

We lost 1-0.

Was that the game the train on way back to bolton was trashed and stopped at lostock?

Headline in the BEN next day was “Burnden fans face rail ban”. Thousands of pounds of damage done to train after we lost 1-0.
