More Than Our Fair Share Of Luck This Season?

- The nailed on penalty not given to Sheff Weds in the last few minutes of the first win of the season

- The snowstorm against Aston Villa that turned one of the hardest games into the season into a scrap in the snow rather than a football match.
- The generous penalty award 8 minutes from time in Barnsley's must win game
- The once in a generation events of the last 3 minutes against Nottingham Forest. There was no luck about  the goals just the timing of such a freak occurrence

Generally throughout the years especially during the 1997/98 relegation i think Bolton have been an unlucky club but not this season

Not often I’m with Mounts but he’s right.   And the bad decisions haven’t exactly been all one way, have they?   It takes a special kind of miserable twat to come out with that pile of old bollock

That was a dive against Sheffield

We certainly should have been given a penalty at Barnsley a few minutes before the one we were given

Who gives a fuck we’re safe.

I think the luckiest thing about Sunday was conceding when we did. If we'd hung on a bit longer we'd have gone all defensive, subbed Wilbraham and tried, & inevitably have failed to hang on.

we should have a penalty on Saturday

Its almost are if some are pissed off that they don't get to say 'told you so'

It all evens out.

If someone could be arsed I'd bet there's equally as many examples of us having bad luck

I stand by what I said on Saturday, we haven't played well enough to deserve to stay up but I don't care - maybe Burton, Barnsley and Sunderland have been even worse.

Doesn't matter now, bring on the war chest

We have probably one the unluckiest and depressing teams to have supported from 2011-2016.

Near administration, transfer embargo for 3 years, abysmal away records, 5-0 defeat at Wembley, 2 relegations, player collapsing on pitch etc.

The fans deserved this game.

Now we need to push on, and we can truly mark 2017+ onwards, as the era of Bolton Wanderers coming back

maybe Burton, Barnsley and Sunderland have been even worse

The league table says they have.

We've had lots of luck this season on the sheer fact of results going our way. We've been let off so many times.

No complaints from me though

Aston Villa picked a team with wingers who couldn't run in the snow.If Villa knew they were going to be playing on an inch of snow they would have picked more battlers. The weather conditions changed after Villa

had handed their teamsheet in and they couldn't do anything about it.

Results didn't go our way. Its just at the end there were three worse teams than us. In other seasons that might not have been the case. Not sure that is luck, just the way it goes.

we will ignore the fact the Villa performance was probably one of most solid as a unit all season. we will ignore the fact we probably played our best football over the course of 90 minutes in that game on the same snowy pitch they couldnt run on and we will ignore the fact we created better chances than they did. we can just put it down to the fact they couldnt pick a fucking bobsleigh on each flank

fcuk me, youve been listening to brucie bullshit

Was going to post exactly the same.

Always an excuse that prick.

i could add madine missing from point blank in the 95th minute at villa

then theres norwich away, was that lucky or just a fantastic billy big bollocks defensive effort

Over the years we've had a habit of conceding goals in the last 5-10 mins of games. Going back many years.

This one match compensates for all those.

Of course they went our way. Also that their were 3 worse teams

an inch?

it was barely covered - visibility may have been poor but they were basically playing on a damp pitch, no different to had it been raining and windy

Luck evens itself out, the only season I think we were genuinely unlucky was Coyle's relegation.

From a player basically dying on the pitch to QPR's improbable late season results to Stoke's 2 questionable goals in the final game we didn't get a break.

It takes a special kind of miserable twat to come out with that pile of old bollocks.

The last sentence is the perfect response congratulations.
