Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 27, 2018 Site Supporter Share Posted July 27, 2018 The use of "actively" to describe almost every activity. Ken was actively looking for a buyer. What as opposed to sat on his arse in a chair looking through a telephone directory.
Site Supporter Spider Posted July 27, 2018 Site Supporter Share Posted July 27, 2018 Whilst people saying "of" instead of "have" singles them out as having a lower IQ than pair of shoes, the English language is constantly evolving and that's what makes it beautiful. If we still spoke like people did 500 years ago it would be weird. Don't get me wrong, these people aren't Shakespeare, but it's the nature of language innit? French was our primary language up until the 1300's, so don't complain.

Whites man
The preposition “to” is disappearing, “I am going town” etc. And the site’s drunk use of ‘n’ all instead of and all, if nothing else it is more fiddly to type on a mobile. Adlington Trotter
Why do loads of people insist on turning general statements of opinion into questions by using the word "right"? It's warm today, right? Traffic was busy today, right? It's like the upward inflexion at the end of sentences that was common during the 2000s. But more irritating, right? Moderators Zico Posted July 27, 2018 Moderators Share Posted July 27, 2018 it's been around a while but I still can't stand how the (mis)use of the word "literally" has become mainstream, and now more often than not it's used figuratively
Members bolty58
Besides starting sentences with 'so', many down here have taken to answering questions by starting with "Yes, no.....". Well which is it then you irritating fucker? Yes or no?
