@Traf are your deals just on Facebook luv? I’m not on it you see

Yes, but mainly because (a) I keep forgetting to put them on my twitter feed and (b) I don't understand Instagram.

Need to get Junior on the case ASAP

Be careful with this. If you wait until the new 6 week deadline offering and then you decide you don't want to go you will have to pay 70% of the holiday overall as the usual terms and conditions still stand regarding cancellations.

Exactly. Also, Jet2’s policy is to automatically take the balance from the card from which you paid the deposit with. I’m not having it that they’re not still taking balances for holidays they know won’t be happening.

When i cancelled my July holiday with Jet 2 the other week, i noticed that you can no longer cancel  holidays yourself through the "My booking" section of the website, they removed this privilege at the start of the corona crisis.

At present you have to email the company to request a cancellation and in my case it took them a couple of weeks to respond.

Wish I'd read this before I've literally just extended it. Whoops. Stiil, we've pushed it back to 22nd June and you'd have to expect early August holidays will be cancelled by then.

Cancel option still showing as available for me so I’ll just have to revert to plan A and cancel it 70 days before. Had already written off the deposit anyway.

Message me on day 71, mate 😉

I've not got the time or the energy to continually correct WW expert opinions.

I have

If you dont think its happening, where is the sense in cancelling

Then, its on you

And quite rightly

Anyway, talk to traf as he says

We’ve only paid the deposit and have written it off already really. I look at it that you wouldn’t stake 2 grand on a horse to get back £2,180 so not bothering with the risk really, just in case it comes to August and they leave it up to folk to make their own decision.

Briefly without getting into a massive debate over the refund/voucher etc etc

Everyone's accusing the industry of delaying tactics, but it's not like that at all.
It's not like taking a tin of paint back to Homebase and asking for your money back.
If you spent £5k with me, I've probably had £350-£500 out of that.
Some has gone to my parent company, some to an airline, some to ground services in the destination, some tax, some to the hotel.
It all has to be reclaimed before we can repay.

This is a simplified version (which, of course, can & will be picked apart) that might explain it a bit better than a mere mortal like I could...

The bottom line for us agents is that we've done the research, the quotes and the booking, now have to do the refund process, get dogs abuse off clients and not make a fucking penny.

The travel trade is at breaking point and when it collapses, future travel will be harder to source/book and you'll have no protection on your bookings.

Your final balance isn't being conned out of you, it might well be aiding cashflow to stop an industry currently getting no help from the Government from going under.

Just managed to get my refund from TUI, was on hold for about an hour and a half but stuck with it, just glad I've got my money back.

So am I.

I don't like to add to scaremongering speculation, but if any big outfit is at risk, it's TUI

Shame Ryan Air aren’t on the ropes

If their was a Nuclear Apocalypse the only two things that would survive are cockroaches and Ryain Air

I think it's a shame that any firm is struggling.

Irrespective of people's opinions of Mr O'Leary (cunt), thousands of jobs are stake.

I don’t get the hate for Ryanair.

I know their tactics can be a bit iffy, but I once flew to Majorca and back for less than it costs to get a taxi to Manchester.

Cheap always comes with strings attached. Worth the hassle.

Use them every time to fly to Dublin about 5 times a year

No fuckin about, no delay, no hassle. usually get 3 of us there and back for £60

Got the ferry to Dublin, from Holyhead, took a while to get there, ferry took forever, choppy seas inflated prices on board was about £300. Never again what’s the point.

If you follow the rules and navigate the site, they're great.

Sadly some people can't do that. They tick boxes after not reading things and when it's not First Class service for £19, they're moaning.

I’d happily never fly Ryan Air again

Atrocious airline from a customer service perspective (IMO)

I’d happily pay more to avoid them but sadly they have cornered the market on many routes meaning it’s either them or go via London

Obviously I don’t want anyone to lose their jobs but I’d love Ryan Air to lose their dominance from the North West

I also think they haven’t been perticularly great with all this Covid stuff. From what I read they made €1bn profit year end to March 2020, have €5bn on the balance sheet yet they are refusing to refund a few hundred million euros worth of cancelled flights - classic RyanAir

That's where i'm at with Ryanair. Had a few 'mares with them in the past and nothing to do with navigating their website.

Never again.
