  • For the record, I've never had any business dealings with captainmed. I hardly know the bloke and he certainly doesn't know me or my business. It's not the best review I've had, but you can't win

Email from Jet2 saying you can extend the final payment deadline by 4 weeks. Hopefully that will be enough time for them to bin my August holiday and we get our deposit back.

horrible feeling my cruise to norway will be off next year

can see cruises being the last type of holiday back on the market

How do I book a holiday with you? I don't mind helping a fellow Trotter out.

You can PM here, email me at natsammia@gmail.com or via my Faceache page at https://www.facebook.com/natsammiatravel/

Mother in law booked 10 nights all inclusive in Belek Turkey next year, 6 adults 3 kids and 2 x babies. Cost £6250 last month. Same holiday is just short of £9500 now

We were due to go to Norway in June.  Flights there, internal flights and a camper van all booked independently. We got most of the camper van money back but I've no idea what to do with the flights.  Bizarrely, they haven't been officially cancelled yet although one airline has offered us vouchers by way of a refund.  Do we claim from the airline, via the travel insurance or the credit card company?

Id guess credit card is number 3

Insurance will say go to the airline, so start with the airline, save time

But id be waiting til the flights are cancelled

Correct.

Wait until airline cancel and hen ask them to reimburse you.
If they say no, go to your travel insurance
If they also say no, then go to your card provider.

Tui and Jet2 are still maintaining that they will commence holidays by mid June, they know that there's not a hope in hell that will happen, but they are still raking in thousands of balance payments from folk, even though they know there will be no travel by mid June.Once they've got your money they try and fob you off with vouchers.

I was in this position with Jet2 for a July holiday which will not happen, so i decided to just forfeit my deposit when the balance was due, rather than pay them lots of money.

That’s what our plan is to be honest. Just hoping this new initiative will kick the can far enough down the road that we’ll be able to get our deposit back as well.

are greece opening up, or is it all bollocks?

This simply isn't the case or the reason behind what's going on.
TUI, I wouldn't touch with a bargepole and I only sell TUI if the customer insists on using them.
Jet2 have been absolutely brilliant to us travel agents and customers alike throughout the crisis.

Greece is opening up, as are parts of Portugal, Spain, Italy etc etc etc

Tried about 30 times since yesterday tea time and this morning to speak to TUI over the phone for a refund, no bloody chance.

Be careful with this. If you wait until the new 6 week deadline offering and then you decide you don't want to go you will have to pay 70% of the holiday overall as the usual terms and conditions still stand regarding cancellations.

Exactly. Also, Jet2’s policy is to automatically take the balance from the card from which you paid the deposit with. I’m not having it that they’re not still taking balances for holidays they know won’t be happening.

When i cancelled my July holiday with Jet 2 the other week, i noticed that you can no longer cancel  holidays yourself through the "My booking" section of the website, they removed this privilege at the start of the corona crisis.

At present you have to email the company to request a cancellation and in my case it took them a couple of weeks to respond.

Cheers Gents.

I've 'liked' your fb page Traf.  Hoping to be another to send some business your way when we're allowed out again.

Got chatting to a fella on walk in NZ. As well detecting a whiff of lavender, he mentioned he ran a B&B, told me the name of it. Googled it after, top search result was on "gaystays.com".

Wish I'd read this before I've literally just extended it. Whoops. Stiil, we've pushed it back to 22nd June and you'd have to expect early August holidays will be cancelled by then.

How long have you booked in for?

Yes, but mainly because (a) I keep forgetting to put them on my twitter feed and (b) I don't understand Instagram.

Need to get Junior on the case ASAP
