I'd happily ride a bike if I lived a mile from work

Just not fucking about in cycle lanes

I have this aversion to things painted on roads

Bus lanes, cycle lanes, general traffic calming

how big a hole did you dig for the family bog?

Family? I wouldn't take the fam-a-lam wild camping! Not that tight FFS!! haha.

First night, was by some rocks - two huge submarines, I hasten to add. Just covered it over with plenty of heather!!! Held on for the second night and did it on the ferry the following morning!

Sweep; without filling space with a long quote, I was more meaning companies. If they can be flexible and move into other areas, then they hopefully can keep more on.

Inevitable others will need to retrain, but such is the world of work. Not a great deal of alternative if society is shifting its habits.

Following casino's point, there is also a requirement to make cycling plausible. Not just the lanes, but amenities at work for showering and changing. Some assistance for companies with this, with government support wouldnt go amiss, especially in these times.

Aye, I'd agree with that

But half an hour or more on a push iron before and after work in wind, rain and darkness ain't for me

Not most people, in reality, there can't be that many people who live within 2 or 3 miles from work.

Plus imagine cycling to work and back home in December/January/February time, fuck that

Probably got a point as it’ll be half arsed as per usual. Just a shit line painted on an even shiter bit of tarmac.

And tmgj is right about the showers. I was lucky at work as we’d moved into a brand new building with lockers and showers etc. Be fecking horrible without.

That's still 9 months of cycling. Got to be better for fitness than none.

Once used to it, folk would soon start riding more than a couple of miles.

The cycle route between Bolton and Bury is now essentially complete, predominantly along the old rail line and very little road work.

Networks like these need further investment.

And maybe secure, safe, dry cycle parks at rail and tram stations too.

Not sure Mrs Sweep will bike her 30 miles each way either.

Let's be honest, it's a shit idea that nobody is really going to entertain

You could walk to the local station cant you!

Thats why I mentioned having cycle parking etc at stations. I’d uess that majority of folk in towns live within 2 or 3 miles of a station. Get some metworks sorted so that access is as safe as possible and people will use them. Even if they walk, doesn’t really matter.

I just hope that cnut Hancock doesn't put Portugal back on the naughty step this week, 4 of us are off to Albufeira for 6 days on Thursday,

It’s nailed on.

But fuck it, most people are coming back and just cracking on as normal. Triple dipple fact.

And why not, our massive increase in activity hasn't resulted in many more infections (despite mass testing); hospitalisations and deaths continue to reduce.

You can fool some people sometime

Got back from Turkey on Sunday morning, anyone thinking of getting away for a few days get it booked, pretty much all is normal with guaranteed sun.

Did you do the parasailing from the top of the mountain?

I didn't fancy it but was psyching myself up to do it all week

Booked it for my last day but was called off due to being too windy

I wasn't gutted

I wanted to do it so did my 8 year old. The missus put a stop to him doing it though 😡 so I knocked it on the head as well.

A few others from our group did it though and loved it. £45 is a great price for the experience

I just spent the whole week by the pool watching them float down, one after the other, thinking "fuck that"

mMost dangerous bit is when they're coming down to land at dusk.

Must be loads of cases of folk just wandering along, minding their own business then being taken out by them coming in to land.

There was a small landing strip at the bottom of our hotel...there wasn’t much room for any mistakes! There’s been a few deaths Over the years which is why the missus wouldn’t let my lad on.

Portugal is definitely going back on the naughty step.
