after today obvs 

lost 2 and a bit Stone last year. Put a bit back on last two months but nothing that can’t be shifted with a bit of graft.

 

May have to join in on this being healthy lark, my 40+ health check says I've got a dicky liver. Probably from being a lazy cunt that eats too much sweet stuff. I'm going to have to start eating like an adult.

I did a lot of 80/20, I still do when it comes to running. My 20 is usually hill sprints

Those who have seen my athletic physique will know that I'm no expert on fitness, but surely not eating for 20hrs and then running for an hour can't be good for you.

I doubt whoever peddles these plans or information have personal trainers qualifications, but if they do, they should be investigated and stripped of them and banned from practicing.

It's dangerous, radically unhealthy, can cause so much long term damage and more importantly just plain fucking stupid.

Before starting out on my weight loss, I came across an article about doing exercise on an empty stomach.

They gave it some name or other, but in essence, yes you'll lose weight but it may fuck you up.

20 hour fast and then a big run takes that to the extreme.

Bonkers.

20 hours of fasting is hardly going to deplete those stores. 

Glycogen is a byproduct of carbs and sugar. As I’ve been in ketosis for 2 1/2 weeks, I’m not reliant on it.

Folk run marathons fat adapted and fasted.

James smith does a good bit about it. Fasting is mental. Just eat less calories over the day as fasting is just reducing calories by doing not eating for x hours.

So are carbohydrates.

Ketosis is not good for you.

Everyone has their own opinions. For everyone who says its bad, there’s another bunch of experts who say it’s good for you.

Fasting resets your body from the inside. Sacks off your bad cells. Massive, massive benefits from doing it.

From snacking constantly and raiding the fridge every 15 minutes, I’m now literally never hungry. Feeling very satiated from the good fats and protein in my daily meals.

Obesity, diabetes and being “over fat” are happening in epidemic proportions and the “standard” diet that most of us have signed up for all our lives clearly isn’t working. Not too mention chronic illnesses.

The USFDA changes in 1977 moving the world from high fat/low sugar to low fat/high sugar has been castastrophic. Just look around. There’s more fatties than thinnies nowadays.

BUT there’s also a lot of “athletic” types and gym types who look fit but are eating shit calories and too much sugar.

You're absolutely right about dietary changes in recent times, but that doesn't necessarily mean you have to go through such a punishing regime to get right. 

Clearly it works for you, but looking at my dad's generation, and the post war years of rations and seasonal food, they largely had a good, balanced diet, and were much slimmer.

As I've said many a time, supermarkets have a lot to answer for.

My biggest issue now that the weight loss has slowed after the initial great results, is  keeping going. The old me keeps calling to see if the new me fancies playing out.
