Portion sizes are my enemy so could work in my favour ha... will work out the cals in a bit. I need to be at 2200ish really to make a dent but not die. Always like the idea of a prep plan like this. I just don't have enough time to prep set meals. Then it's convenience food 🫣 From that perspective it's great. Stick it in the microwave for an extra minute than what it suggests though. And avoid the jerk chicken which sounds nice but is absolutely vile! 🤣 Plus - no washing up! Quote

I used it, got a rough figure, then aimed for 500 kcal fewer each day. Sometimes a touch over, sometimes a touch under. Worked a treat, even if I do get hungry at times. Quote

I use body trax and my fitness pal mate. Full run down of what macros I need and what I'm lacking. Not been on the scales for a while though 😒 Quote

Just had 2 mince pies for lunch, but plenty of calories in the bank! Quote

Leyther_Matt Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 Not a prayer I’m going anywhere near the scales, but I’m genuinely looking forward to eating sensibly. Don’t think I’ll manage Rotherham without a few pints, but then a solid fortnight off in which will help. Not been to the gym in 18 months so will be looking to sign up for one near work once the January rush dies down and figure out a routine to fit it around my commute. Quote
Jol_BWFC Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 Signed up to a gym for the first time and will be getting back into running as well. Hoping to improve the eating / drinking, to reduce the cholesterol levels. Will be interesting to see how much I miss the post-work drinks and tasty (but unhealthy) food. Quote

Doesn’t fit now really as it doesn’t open early enough for the time I’d have to go to work, and there’s not a prayer I’d be going to the gym after being sat in the car for 70 minutes on the way home. Plan is to build it around the commute so either face less traffic in the morning, or go straight from work and let it die down a bit. Quote

I may give this a go. 16 week marathon plan starts tomorrow in prep for the london marathon I'm fine with breakfast and dinner, especially with working from home, it's tea time that's a bastard cooking for 3 including a 4 year old might get on these for a few months and feed them on nuggets and chips Quote

Nowack Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 Treadmills are buggers on your back, especially if you are running for 90 minutes on it like you seem to be doing. Did you have it on an incline? that can make it worse. Quote

I’ve not run on a treadmill for a long time but due to closeness to Tokyo and risk of injury I’ve decided it’s a must when it’s icey. Hate not running outside. I think the problem is just using muscles I’ve not used for a while. I never normally run at 5mim/km so I’ve probably moved differently. Quote

I actually like it - had my fill of 2hrs just running and it helps on the knees as I'm getting older. But I do the quick 20 min HIIT sessions in 8 sprint bursts every other day, with the same on an airline and rower the others. Stops me getting bored. Quote
matty2094 Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 Did a Hyrox class for the first time on Friday. Quite possibly one of the worst things I’ve ever done. Didn’t know if I was going to throw up, piss or shit myself. Horrendous. Full membership starts tomorrow 🙃 Planning to do the 3 Peaks in Summer so training needs to start somewhere (albeit a slightly different sort). Any advice appreciated! Quote
