Get what you and @Traf say. It took me a while to get into it. Work it now as sets of 3 lengths. One each of front crawl, breaststroke and backstroke. Rinse and repeat. Zone out. It’s me time. No cunt in the gym mithering me. Nobody talking to me. Me on my own. Fucking bliss. Limit it to 30-40 mins and do it as often as possible. Works for me Quote

The first two were always packed with pensioners! Quote

If I’m up Dawn’s crack I’m in there at 6.30 and it’s quiet. Working at home and I’ll go at 12.00/12.30 and it’s good then as well Quote

Really got into that during lockdown which was when I got into podcasts in a big way. Still do it when I can. Again. Me. On my own. Balls to everyone. Love my own company every now and again Quote

Also on my bike three times a week hitting 120- 150k, so that keeps me busy. Should probably chuck in some weights in somewhere amongst that but I’ve always hated it. Just bleeding hurts. Anyroad, bikes are ace. Need some tinkering and loads of shite to spend money on😁 Quote
Underpants Posted June 18, 2025 Posted June 18, 2025 I started running back in September. Nothing major and I'm not going to go down the organised fun run or park run thing. I just want to keep fit after retiring from domestic & international football 🙄. Just recently my entire body has been aching for days and days after I've been out. Anyway I thought I would try this cold water immersion technique when I get back from a run. An ice bath for them who don't know. As you would expect 10 mins in a cold bath was not pleasant. But I can tell you it seems to have sorted my aching issue out. It's suppose to be good mentally as well. I can't really comment on that but body wise it seems to be the biz. Quote

gonzo Posted June 19, 2025 Author Posted June 19, 2025 There just has to be some major downside to them, but thus far I've not seen many. Was at the kids footy last week and half the mums are now skinny and bang on em. Apparently they just stop you craving stuff and you just don't fancy eating. That chase of dopamine by eating something nice or naughty is nullified. It's fucked up. Quote

I find it hard to fit with marathon training and end up having to force stuff down. Why folk want to use em to just be skinny I will never know. it has stopped me having loads of sweets and my sugar has come right down in a few weeks Quote

If ya just starving yourself for ocean beach it can be bad. I have to track everything make sure I am getting enough nutrients and the right balance. A lot of folk don’t do this hence problems start. I have a mate who had that gastric band thing. He’s fucked now as he didn’t follow the rules. Pancreas fucked. Not getting nutrients really messes you up Quote
gonzo Posted June 19, 2025 Author Posted June 19, 2025 Oh aye from a medical POV they are unbelievable. If it can tackle obesity and diabetes etc then that can only be good. But I'm seeing more and more folk on em. My mate knocks em out for £140. (English not Albanian 🏴) I've not seen anyone on the other side of em yet, ie when they stop. Do they balloon up again like coming off fad diets? Quote
Traf Posted June 19, 2025 Posted June 19, 2025 Lots of stuff going about howe these jabs fuck up your bone density. be a lot of thin cripples around in 10 yrs. Quote
