Take Over

People keep talking investors to get us the promised land.

I just want us out of the shit.

The arguements about ‘why’ invest are a waste of time. Someone invested in Bournemouth.

Howard,

Are we still only expecting some sort of announcement next Monday?

Or is there a possibility Ken signs off before / on payday at the end of this week and they announce then?

Do we think the whole who pays the wages argument will be avoided like last month?

From an investors point of view the infrastructure around the stadium, car parks, hotel and the stadium is better at Bolton, the potential crowds not that different in the grand scheme of things.

Southampton are close to full potential where we are below true potential, where do you go with Southampton from where they are? Southampton probably cost 5-10 times more to purchase than Bolton would.

Exactly my point.

The price of us compared to Southampton now is a million miles apart... any investor can get us at a snippet and spend on us how he/she wants to to mould the club how they want it to run.

Southampton you'd be paying £150m more to buy it than us right now... why would you spend that when you could get us cheap, and spend less then the price of Southampton to get us back to where they are.

If Southampton are that much of a proposition, why has no one tried to buy them? Investors preferred Bournemouth instead...

Not having it that they are bigger than us, it's equal if anything.

Anything KA puts in to the club at this point he wants back out, exactly same with Basran deal.

I don’t imagine KA will want to pay out, but if he’s certain to recover it then I think he will pay. That’s the difference to last time, he wasn’t convinced of the funding of Basran Group and so held on and on whilst they tried to get the funding in place, when it became evident that this wasn’t going to happen, he paid.

Bums on seats not as important as TV money.

Not outside the premiership

Our crowds kept good in league one think season tickets was the same as previously

however imagine not getting promotion they would tail off

which goes back to my previous comment on Southampton in league one they was packing far more

Howard,

I am confused as not read all the thread, do you claim to know who the buyers are ?

There was an earlier post when you confirmed UK based, but was not sure if you were confirming the definition or the fact that the buyers are UK based.

Cheers

To get more TV money we need to have a product that's worth watching which means a better brand of football, we don't want to watch the current shite so why would anyone else want to?

really?

id like to see the tv stats behind the "lesser" clubs in the prem. then see if their "brand" of football makes any difference to number of showings.

Is there any debt at Southampton?

Just had a quick look and it appears that while they made a profit of £46 million in 2016-27 they still have debt but it isn't clear how much.

Interestingly the current major stake-holder is rumoured to have paid £210 million in, I think,  2017 for an 80% stake.

Jeez another pointless discussion wtf have Southampton got to do with our situation? (Other than giving us hope as they were in financial shit not that long ago)I realise some on here are obssessed with crowd numbers but in the premier it doesnt really matter. Look at Bournemouth or Fulham or a good few others. The tv money isnt allocated by bums on seats

Praying we find out something positive soon

Because H said that investors may prefer to buy Southampton rather than us....

The main reason Soton are where they are in the table compared to us is not because Hampshire is wealthier than Gtr Manchester but because their recent owners have been far more competent at selling their best players than Eddie/Garty and  Ken have been.At the 2017 FA Cup Final between London giants Arsenal and Chelsea 3 of the 8 defenders that started match were ex Bolton players.Bolton received under £10 million combined for those 3 players.

Compare with Southampton who have sold five players to Liverpool for £150 million   in the last few seasons, Liverpool who have won nowt for 7 years so its not like Soton have had  far better quality to sell.

Going back 11 years Bolton sold Chelsea an established ,world class striker (Anelka) for less money than Blackburn got for David Bentley. The men in the boardroom have to do better than that for Bolton to compete with the likes of Soton

And again the most important point is that net worth isn’t indicative of the amount to be spent on the club.

Although somewhat irrelevant like you say, do you have any idea of the net worth of these buyers Howard? (out of interest)

Billions as suggested or not?
